Just in case you need a spare.

After a long morning on the driving range, I stopped in
at Hooter's to see some friends and have some Hot Wings and iced tea.

After being there for a while, one of my friends asked
me which waitress I would like to be stuck in an elevator with.

I told them, "The one who knows how to fix elevators."

I'm old, I'm tired, and I pee a lot.

I rarely if ever post on this forum. So it only stands to reason that I would not, under any circumstances, post in this thread as it has been clearly stated that any and all contents herein must be disregarded.

How to protect yourself from the psychological effects of ignoring someone.

What To Do When Someone wants you to ignore them
1.Give The Person Space. If you feel the urge to bombard the other person with questions and demands, you're not alone! ...
2. Make Sure That The Person Really wants to be Ignored by You. ...
3.Think About Why The Person Could Be desiring to be ignored by you. ...
4.Avoid Overreacting. ...
5.Don't Let It Consume You. ...
6.Meet with the person in the thread if possible. ...
7.Apologize If Necessary.

Thank you for the protocol for protecting oneself against any psychological effects of ignoring someone.

However, what is the protocol for actually ignoring something in a thread? I need instructions for that. Please assist.

What to do when you want to ignore something in a thread

1Take a break.
Take a break from what’s enticing you in the thread by re-focusing your energy on positive, relaxing, and/or enjoyable activities.
Taking a bath.
Read a book.
Play a wargame you enjoy.
2.Distract Yourself
Visit other threads on the Matrix sight and start posting "gibberish" if necessary.
Create a thread of your own. Occupying your time responding to those who post on your thread.
3.Get fresh air
If you can’t get outside, imagine a place you enjoy or would rather be.
4.Reach out for help.
At a certain point it may be too difficult to distract yourself from the thread. Reach out to your Matrix members/fiends for a real therapeutic response of Humor, sarcasm, nonsensical response, changing topic with gibberish, warnings, perspectives.
5.Try grounding techniques.
Grounding techniques rather then focus on that thread. Simply focus in on one of your five senses. Then once focused repeat several times out-loud to yourself. "I don't need that thread" , "I'm better then that".

"Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a thread who wasn't there!
He wasn't there again today,
Oh how I wish he'd go away!"

When I came home last night at three,
The thread was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door...

Last night I saw upon the stair,
A little thread who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away...

How can we possibly ignore the most important thread ever created on the internet. [:D] We lumberjacks will never do it.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.

He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea

He cut down trees, he eat his lunch
He go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he go shopping and has buttered scones for tea.

He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.

He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars.

He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear momma!
My shrink says I have anger management and conflict resolution issues....and I'LL FIGHT ANYBODY THAT DISAGREES!

Right. Now what? I am obviously in need of further help since I continue to post here.

Please, do not get me wrong. Your 5 steps were helpful. And it kept me away for hours...

I'm afraid you may be suffering (together with others posting here) from a certain "ism." Called "adagium, or neclego,",from the Latin. Definitely, a very insidious "ism". This one may be beyond my expertise.
