Soccer is so boring 1:1 and how many hours watching that? Might as well watch the grass grow...oh wait there is grass out there isn't there? How much do people pay to watch grown men kick a little ball around too and fro for 3 hours+ in a 1:1 tie? They do serve beer there right? [:'(]

Some English fans (on other forums) are doing serious damage control right now. After predicting a US loss of 9-0 and talking trash they are now using the defense "BUT....YOU DIDN'T WIN. LOL!!!"

Haha. It was a good game for both teams. Glad to see some English posters giving respect where respect is due.

I am mainly a college football fan(american) but soccer interests me. I enjoyed the game. What I like is that you can go to the bathroom/kitchen and miss nothing of the game or you may have missed everything.[;)][:)]

Soccer would be much more interesting if they would combine it with paintball or medieval tournament combat.

As in any sport some games can be boring, but the "beautiful game" is the greatest sporting show on earth....

I find soccer a bit too slow paced for me. Same with baseball. I am still trying to watch and enjoy the World Cup, however. I just watched Serbia vs. Ghana, which, as far as soccer goes, was a pretty boring game. Regardless, the World Cup is a great thing for sports and for the world. I love the competition and the nationalism for every country. Soccer is getting bigger and bigger everyday in America. 30 years ago very few people in the USA played soccer. Now in my generation almost every child plays soccer and many more continue to play throughout high school and college. I expect the US to get stronger and stronger each year as soccer gets more popular here.

I enjoy it but don't understand the rules. Whats the yellow card for? A foul I think.

Yellow cards are a warning for bad behaviour... get 2 in one game and you are sent off the pitch for the rest of the game and banned from the next game. If the foul was bad enough then you get a red card and are sent off the pitch and will have a further ban from future games.....

That's what we Europeans are afraid. A combination of a large population and plenty of money could easily make the USA the greatest team in the world. Hopefully the majority of you will find it boring and stick to rounders....[;)]
