question

Post by bairdlander2 »

The media here in Canada is constantly stating "Alberta's dirty oilsands" as being international news.Im wondering since this forum is international if anyone here has heard this story or know what its about.I think its being blown out of proportion.

Is it about oil production and the resulting environment pollution? If yes then we had it in the news in relation to the Mexican Golf oil spill during the summer.

Haven't heard of it - and it's not a political thread - it's about news being touted as international...but then I guess some people will find politics in anything if they have to [;)]

I'd guess it's the charactaristic Canadian thing. "Did you guys think what we did was bad?" "Did you guys notice what we did?" Always trying to peek around the shadow of big brother down south [:D]

I think there was an article about it in National Geographic a few (or more) months ago.

I think its wild that the media here is making outlandish statements saying that millions of dollars in tourism has been lost because of this anti oilsands campaign, yet posters here say they never heard of it.Its amazing how the media around the world slants things.

Nobody cares about oil unless Americans make money from it. Then it's evil.
