For Ian McNeill - give away Birth of America

Post by altipueri »

I see Birth of America is on sale for £5.04

This is less than a pint of beer in most pubs these days.

Why not do a deal with, say, the Daily Telegraph which has a lot of history bores like me as readers - to see if you can garner some interest in wargames?

I think Birth of America is a good free taster game because:

It is quite easy to play

It covers a period that is not well known and therefore less controversial

The maps are wonderful

It works on PCs from XP to Windows 11.

It looks like Birth of America 2:Wars in America is also on sale. The campaign, A Few Acres of Snow, is probably the best operational coverage of the whole of the FiW around and is worth that price alone. Pull out your copy of "The Last of the Mohicans", or watch the excellent movie to get into the mood. Will you be able to keep Colonel Washington alive? 8-)

Birth of America 2 is still great but the first one is a bit old now. It would be regarded as free Epic Store game at most people have in library but don't play second time in today world than yesterday.

Less controversial and less popular perhaps. History debate > mechanics. EX: Paradox history games. Popularity can be increased perhaps with underdog or different conflicts.Audiance not necessarily needs to be native to the conflict. As the world is divided between space and middle ages.
