Displayed Aerial Rocket Range of 0 m

Post by rmeckman »

I've noticed that the weapons tab in the subunit inspector often shows conflicting information about the range of aerial rockets. In the Hind example shown, the range of the UB-32 is initially displayed as 0 m, whereas further down it is given as 100 to 3500 m. Is this intentional to reflect some kind of limitation specific to the unguided rockets or is there a weapons database issue? The image comes from FCSS version 2.1.3.7735.

The game supports simple weapons (for which it displays correct range), and more complex weapon launchers where the ammunition load defines the range.
This is an example of the latter, where the UB32 'rocket pod' is a launcher, without any effective range itself, and the actual range of the weapon is defined by the rockets placed in the pod (100-3500m range).

Agreed this is confusing, and we are looking at ways to provide the information in a less confusing way.
