Reinforcements apperaing out of nowhere

Post by batuhankaya »

Hi,
I played the "every cat is black at night" scenario several times but couldn't do good work. So I wanted to see how the computer played (especially the NATO side) the scenario and watched till the end. But I realized that when HQ2/JGBTL 47 and Subordinates arrived as reinforcements, they were suddenly teleported to Heidlfing, Ganacker and Pilsting on hold orders and in a godd defensive position. I was shocked because when I played I was not given the chance to do this (I always tried to rush them from the Northwestern corner to the mentioned towns) but when the computer simulated it (i dont know the battle plan mechanics) it could do that. So I tried to apply a pregame phase order to that unit to do as the same the computer did but I couldn't. More, I searched for a topic about this on the forum or on youtube for a good answer but ı didn't succeed.
My question is,
1. Can I do that (deploy my reinforcing troops any where I want (ın the designated deployment zones)-teleporting?
2. If I can't, does my opponent in any game have the ability to do this and why?

The AI under the battleplans is not limited to the same deployment zones that you are as a player. It's up to the scenario designer how exactly they want the battleplans to work, but against the AI there are no restrictions.

If you play against a person (or I think they AI without a battleplan) then they will be limited to the deployment zones, same as you.

Great questions.
@1. Reinforcement arrival locations are set by the scenario designer, and (computer) players have no control over these.
@2. The scenario designer has the option to define set-up zones per battle plan, potentially different from the (default) set-up zones and reinforcement locations you receive when playing that side.

If you want to the see the computer play using the same set-up zones and reinforcement locations available to you, disable the battle plans for the computer.

By allowing the scenario designer to vary the set-up zones and reinforcement locations, the scenarios gain replay value (as it requires "intel" activity to figure out what the computer player is doing, instead of simply memorizing set-up locations and blindly firing barrages into these locations).

Hope that clarifies it.
