Will the next game fix Fog of War issues?

Post by rykirk »

Absolutely love this game, and its all I'm playing lately, but there are some weird anomalies that seem intrinsic to the engine that really mess with the FoW. The casualties being marked on the map with explosion animations and the little crosses and wrecks when there's no LoS or spotted unit in the hex makes no sense at all. And even with full FoW settings the pbem replays seem to often reveal subtle details about the unit compositions being impacted with losses by indirect fire, units that are supposed to only be radar or radio contacts, etc..

Is this planned to be resolved in the new game?

This was an artillery issue into unspotted hexes and it has been addressed in the new game.

Will this fix be back ported into Southern Storm? Or is it a complete engine rewrite?

The corrections are in the new game engine code for Cold War and not something Southern Storm will see.
