Abundance - resource screen reports different numbers to the asteroid

Post by concern »

If I look at the resource screen (and the message asking me to assign a mining station mission) the abundance figures are vastly difference to those reported on the Resources tab.

Eg: Click on asteroid QH360 and it shows 4% Mebnar and 4% steel. The New Mining Locations of the resources report shows 21% Mebnar and 12% steel.

Why the discrepancy? Which one is accurate?

If i'm not mistaken, the large mining station takes into account all asteroids within it's mining range, that's why it's numbers are higher.

It's the total of all of the asteroids that the mining station will have in range to mine. Yes, one mining station can mine all of the asteroids in its range....GP

Thanks everyone; you're always helpful.

Can you tell the mining station range on the map prior to building it?
