Sorry, but I have to say this:
Looks like the caretaker put you in the delta quadrant. Had not enough time to explain it to you. :-)

Hmm... but as a side note, I recently started watching voyager again:
They were sent 70.000 Lightyears from home, but are still in the same galaxy (of course..?!) ..
Would be interesting how the size in our game galaxy is. But there are also in a distant future hopefully plans to implement a scale :-)
My first thought was fuel ;)
But than it struck me, it's about the hidden Final Orders for 8th Fleet... :D

Btw, Star Trek has this nearly impenetrable galactic barrier...

Enough small talk, it's a serious situation.
How long can they survive without spinning up their hyperdrives? No sun, no energy to collect...
Order them to stay where they are and send enough fuel tankers, two constructor ship, one for backup, and enough resources to build a research station where those hyperdrives could be studied at. Oh, and don't forget to keep the spice flowing...
In case there is not enough energy to keep them alive long enough... thank you for your sacrifice... just remember, don't spin up your hyperdrives as they are of most importance to our...

Updated the first post with the change list for the 1.0.6.3 public beta, which we really hope will be the last in this round of betas before an official update next week.

mayby you can remove or change the drunk Trait? Basically every single General and Admiral gets it since they tend to have longer inactivity times, just hanging around.

That one was actually something we took a few cracks at pre-release, but there's a deeper issue with the frequency of how some traits are assigned which we will deal with when we get to a character issues pass. We'd also like to add in a few more traits based on inactivity so that they're not all drunk or addicts.

Shouldn't inactivity also be tied with helping positive traits based off the government type and corruption? If your empire has low corruption and a more military themed government then the officer corp should be similarly merit oriented and filling that inactive time between wars training and learning new tactics? On the other hand a corrupt empire with a government more prone to a civilian/corporate slant on things would have a much higher chance of allowing sub par officers to gain rank and position so their traits would tend to be more negative due to the environment.

One may argue that this can be achieved by government bonuses and implementing all these nuances into character development is harder to implement. Don't forget that any character can be captured. They all have their own history and background. Obviously, all characters are just figureheads of their respective branches. After all, a Teekan who rises to general in a Mortalen Empire has to have special skills to avoid ending up on the other end of a rotisserie spit, making him very much different from a Teeken general in a Merchant Republic, right? And those skills don't vanish or emerge just because the other side bribes him...

Besides that, generals tend to get Drunk within seconds. Unless you start with expanded Empires, inactivity is part of their job description during early game. Pre-warp means many years without conflicts other than budget debates...

Now this behaviour as described in this thread is happening again in 1.0.6.3.

I like the new patch, but if you have badges on in any state, there are no exploration icons shown.

Can someone confirm this?

Here two threads regarding exploration status' misbehaviour

How is missions such as Blockade planet suppose to work.... I give the order and and after a short while it just disappear... even in the latest patch.

As it works then giving a movement order to the planet seem to do exactly the same thing?!?

The game was started in 1.0.6.2 if that makes any difference.

Also, do the Spy on enemy mission for explorers actually work... mine seem to just stand around with no missions when I automate my explorer with this mission. I am currently in a war too, so at least they should run off and spy on them, right?!?

I also haven't seen any expected behavior with explorers under spy mode. Would be great to have a small group of these working properly.

So there are still some bugs..
The scanning time is still not reset but starts from where it has left, even if it was another object.
For asteroids it is faster than for planets. if you stop on a planet your survey at 90 secs, and you go ont to an asteroid, it there starts at 90 secs, even if it would start normally at 5 secs.

Please read into this thread regarding batches and exploration status

Started a new campaign yesterday with beta 1.0.6.4 and it feels good. I noticed the issue mentionened above with strange scan time, like 90s for the first asteroid after a planet. Otherwise good so far.

You don't need any additional files, just choose the DXVK option in the game settings and also make sure you set SDR instead of HDR and it should work if your system supports it.

fruitgnome wrote: Fri Aug 05, 2022 5:52 pm Yes, the 11th Fleet has fighters. I tested now a savegame 1111 in detail. (Where I can upload it? It is 86 MB big.
If I not zoom in to 11th Fleet it takes 6 month till the fleet start attack gravilex. Then reload savegame and zoom in to the 11th fleet and they fly instantly to attack the gravilex.
If you zip it up you should be able to post it as an attachment, or e-mail it to me at erikr@matrixgames.com, or use a site like wetransfer.com and post a download link here.
