I don't know if anyone has called this out yet but I'm unable to load the game at all when switching to the beta. This has never happened to me before (using either the base game or the beta version). Just jumped to 1.1.5.3 and the launcher shows up, I click "play", the Distant Worlds 2 logo appears, I hear my PC fans spinning up, and then poof the logo is gone, fans wind down, and task manager shows the process is gone.

I looked at the session logs in DW2/Data/Logs and the end of the file (before it crashes I guess) shows this:
06-07-2023 09-17-32.481: WARNING - bundle not found: /data/db/bundles/Quameno.bundle
06-07-2023 09-17-32.482: Checking for bundle file /data/db/bundles/Shakturi.bundle

I have the base game, no additional DLC. I don't have any mod content. Not clear if it fails due to checking mod content, that is where the problem is in the code, or if its completely unrelated.

I have a Windows 11 Home version 22H2 device using a 5950X CPU and 6800XT GPU with 32.0GB of RAM.

Thanks for the report! Do you have a complete crash dump file as well as a Session Log and DxDiag report that you can upload here?

In the log files list generated by the application, I only see the session logs file. I don't see any crash dump file (maybe because the application didn't fully start to generate a crash dump file??). I have attached it to this post.

I uploaded what DxDiag output if that is what you meant.

What I do have is system logs referring to the crash that were captured. One relates to .NET Runtime that seems interesting/important to read. For those, if I could be reached out to or provided an email to send those logs (couldn't clear them for sensitive information since they are event viewer files that I can't modify).

Now I have to ask is MaximKI an ai (artificial inteligence)? If MaximAI it would be clearer for me.

Why a savegame? While starting a new game select in galaxy setup position center. 3 times I wrote about this bug since release.

I also have never seen the game start zoom properly center on my planet using the default camera. If I have it as top down, it does work.

Without a master list of bugs that the team considers (un)resolved, it's hard to know when it is appropriate to resubmit bugs. Bias towards not submitting again.

Thanks for clarifying the situation, I understand that the issue is related to the initial camera zoom-in upon game start. This is an issue that we have on our list and are currently investigating. Our plan is to address this in a future update, though at the moment there are currently other priorities for the dev team as we approach the launch of the next content expansion.

You start the game then choose new game, you select the galaxy, you select your empire, you select your government, and then you select your starting position either random, edge or center. And this center still not working and this setting will not be saved. It jumps always back to random other things like galaxy size get saved for other new games. Although I select start position center I will often start at edge.

Two bugs in my latest game on the newest beta. First I had a Raiding fleet that would not top up ships. I had the necessary ships not in a fleet as well as funds and resources necessary to build the ships. Second when I disbanded the fleet (since it was bugged) the ships that were in that fleet were deleted/scuttled. Here's a save: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Vvikjx ... sp=sharing
