It is on each planet, right of Quality and Diameter.

The game will also display a yellow icon one in the System view, if there is something not yet found.
Finally, in the lower right there is a exploration Indicator.

Thanks for the response, but I want to know MY current Exploration Level capability. What level is my faction at? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something.

You got a Exploration level on the Resource Scanner, the Exploration scanner and the Survey Module.
They each have different values, but also operate at different speed. Generally the less their upper bound ins, the quicker it runs.

Maybe this is already a thing and i can't figure it out but could we get a semi automated system for spies where we tell them what we want them to do and they do and repeat until told otherwise? like i want you to focus on stealing tech from this empire. to get the best out of your spies and enjoy that part of the game you currently (unless i am missing it) have to tell them each time, or leave them automated

With a ship selected, I see 2 sets of rings of dashed lines. The inner ring is orange, and the outer one is yellow. Tried searching the manual and forum but came up with nothing.

Am I correct that the inner orange ring is hyper-jump range and the yellow ring is fuel range?

The private economy has to maintain them. And they can not scrap them. It is trivial to crash your Private economy that way.

Also keep in mind that mining ships are a thing. They can deal with the odd resource not covered by your mining stations.
I really forgot that there are mining ships.

Do you have an percentage treshold for rare luxury resources? Say, do you build a mining station for 8% of a resource which you don't have yet?

What does the number with the five blue dots on the system badge indicate (to the right of the fleet strength of the system)? Thanks.

Generally I allow every station the Private Economy asks for.
I once or twice overwrote their target, because I knew of a better source nearby. But overall, if the PE asks I asume it can turn a profit.
And with anything that is marked as red, I might even pre-emptively get them. I sure grab all the Caslon.

Luxury Resource in particular should be always worth it when prompted. Increasing Development, Growth, Happiness - those are the things that most directly boost your income.

How do I find out the maximum size of ships my spaceport can build? I just researched 'Interstellar Destroyers', but it isn't shown on the build menu. So, I assume it has something to do with that?

#Edit: Problem solved, had to add the new hull design from the ship design menu.

What is the most effective way to improve colony approval?

I see it slowly dropping and before it becomes a real issue I thought I'd ask.

Is there more than just supplying luxuries that affects this?

P.S. don't have any war weariness yet.

In the Military Policy Settings, two of the policies are:

- Enlist Military Ship
- Disassemble Military Ship

One of the options available for Enlist Military Ship policy is “When HighTech Or Larger Than Can Build”.

But for the next policy - *Disassemble Military Ship” - the available settings are:

- Always Immediately Scrap For Money
- Disassemble At Base When HighTech Or Larger That Can Build Otherwise Immediately Scrap For Money
- Always Disassemble At Base For Tech and Resources

So if I want enemy’s military ships to be enlisted if more technologically advanced than mine or bigger than the ones I can currently build, what setting should I / can I use for the “Disassemble Military Ship” policy?

It seems that no matter what setting I choose for “Diassemble Military Ship”, it will result in my desire of enlisting more advanced or bigger ships to be ignored.

Is that the case, or am I missing something?

Pretty sure every Spaceport and every Planet can build every shipsize. Likely you do not have a active design of that model. Did you give the game a ingame month to generate one after unlocking it?

Under Tax automation, there are target approval values depending on population. Anything in excess is turned into money via Taxes (which reduces the score directly and via Corruption).
So some loss is to be expected over time.
Your goal is to have the biggest tax income possible.

That combination confused me in DW1 as well. I think one is the setting if you want to scrap it or keep it.
The other is the seeting how you want to scrap it. I would guess "for money" means "just scrap it in place to save the upkeep".

More questions :?:

How does upgrading stations to different sizes work?

1. Can I upgrade a small space port to a medium spaceport or do I have to build a new one?

2. What about mining station after you research bigger ones?

Thanks :-)

1. I haven't specifically seen anyone do this in DW2, but in the first game you could upgrade to a larger port, so I imagine that you still can.
2. You can just design the large mining station and retrofit the old ones to the new standard .

I have a few questions that I would appreciate some help with.

1. I made the mistake of running out of Mebnar in my first game with no way of mining it at the moment. There are several
sources that I could mine, but I can't build a mining station without Mebnar. A nearby Independent colony has plenty of the
stuff, but I'm not sure how to get it. Will the private economy grab some of it for me, or am I stuck?

2. Is there anyway to compare techs side by side on the research screen? I think that I remember someone doing this on a
stream, but I don't know how to do it. Not a major thing by any means, but it would be nice to be able to do it.

Anyways, I'm really enjoying the game so far, and am looking forward to many hours of empire building for years to come!

Yes. I didn't had the size yesterday and it's easier than expected, thanks.
