At the most... Could be a quarter of a year.... I posted this to be light-hearted. As a developer myself I know how I find deadlines don't add anything to my enjoyment of what otherwise would be a greatly enjoyable creative job.

I'd be fine with another half a year if it means further refinement of the game off feedback from blogs.

Same here.
This game is a work of art, not to be rushed in any way, and I have already been waiting years.
This whole new possibility of helping with beta just has me checking my e-mails every five minutes though....
Total truth - I have just nicked a couple of the wife's crochet needles and am learning it from YouTube video.
Very relaxing and time does pass quicker.
Think I'll make myself a capital-ship-cozy....

Just saw Dune. Everyone should see it, it is a great film.

I now look forward to having an intergalactic war over "Spice" in DW2.

It would've been nice to get in with the beta to help out on that end, now its just back to counting the days and hoping for no more delays.
I've already been burned by Little Devil Inside lol

I just looked that up. Seems pretty sketchy behaviour there.

I have been pretty lucky with the games I have backed, although most have been slow burns. Kenshi turned out well, Project Zomboid is still being developed in a good way. The only tragedy for me has been Rogue System - that would have been unique and my dream game, but was stopped due to genuine dev health reasons.
I did take part in the Elite Dangerous Alpha/Beta, which turned into a very different game than I expected, and not really my thing, but nobody could say it was abandoned.

Weirdly, there was a thread on the Steam discussions for Shadow Empire, where somebody is claiming it is 'dead'. Bizzare as it is a great game that I am enjoying very much and still has active development even though it has been completed and is a work of art.

I am expecting nothing but good from DW2 - just sorry to have missed the beta on this one.

Now - off to watch Dune...

We all survived another week...

5 months, or 22 weeks or 153 days or 3,685 hours or 221,143 minutes or 13,268,634 seconds, at the most, probably, but no pressure... ;) ... to go...

I was thinking that I really liked Dune, also Game of Thrones, which were two book-to-film conversions where I never read the books. Whereas, for example the Lord of the Rings films, which I watched after having read all those books many times, those films filled me with righteous rage for years and I grieve for all those who have ever watched them. They weren't bad films, great achievements in many ways. They just should have been called something else and not borne such a deceptive superficial relationship to the books such that any subsequent reading of them has been irreparably vandalised... Ohhhh I could write pages and pages of this stuff.

Conclusion - I am not going to watch any of that Asimov's Foundation TV thingy.

We're expecting to add in the second wave of testers in the coming week. It won't be a very large number. I'll post here to let you know when the last of that wave is in.

Reminds me of the Distant Worlds 2 thread on the original DW-U forum. Every week or so for past 6 years since 2014, I would check for any updates.

Hehe :)

This thread?

I think the reason I signed up to this forum was for that exact reason.

Although I can't find a way to list my previous posts anywhere.
