Should i get into this now?

Post by Rising-Sun »

I played it few times after the release and the first two patches and feel like not ready yet. So i havent touch this game in awhile, sadly there still players on steam arent happy with it, mostly due to bugs i believe.

I didnt want to spend so much time, ended up dead end in the game. Hmm guess it would help to bring up my pc spec before creating the new game.

So i have Intel i7 with eight cores at 3GHz, 32GB of ram, Wins10x64 and finally the video card is Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB of ram. Not sure if this is important, the sound card is Sound Blaster Z Series.

I wanted to play on the biggest galaxy map with few major species, wasnt sure if this hardware i have will do the tricks. Might crash alot, etc.

I would say there are not many bugs in the game left, certainly not many game breaking ones. After the update to the new Stride engine the games performance have also steadily increased allot to and the amount of hardware it had problem with also seem to have declined quite significant.

There are still some QOL updates I hope they will implement and some balancing I hope they eventually get to, but the game is definitely playable, allot more so than a few months ago. I did not play it too serious in the first couple of months as almost all games of this nature need some time to mature with patches and updates, games of this complexity almost always do. Once it is released to a broader audience bugs get identified much faster than internal betas, that is just how things go, it is almost impossible to find all the bugs... especially if you are a small team with limited resources.

I have I5, 16GB ram Win11 and nVidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/8GB ram. I play 2k universe, over 100y old, 50 (my) colonies and not a single crash, so I think that you don't have any problems considering PC-side.

In the latest beta version i also dont get crashes anymore. Performance overall seems quite good to me, even on my ancient RX 580.

Game is still effectively early access, but since a few weeks in a very playable state. I enjoy it very much and would advise to get it now. It will only get better from this point on, if development continues in a similar way than with DW:U.
