Hot pink for German controlled terrian?

Post by jzardos »

Is there a way to turn off or change the hot pink color for German control areas? I think that is why it is colored. Unfortunately, it's a very annoying color and not really something to show all over a WW2 map. IMO.

Hard to play this game unless this can be change or patched later.

Thanks

I believe you are referring to the setup phase, at the beginning of the scenario, where the colored areas show where a unit can be repositioned to. That color will go away as soon as that setup phase is completed.

Hi, are you in the Setup Phase? Those colors are just to show where the units can be deployed and won't be shown during the game. Press Q to turn that setup overlay on and off.

If you're playing the game, there are a variety of overlays, all of which you can turn on/off. If you press the 6th button down on the top left, it'll open all the display buttons. Press any of them and it'll switch to that display. There's hotkeys for most of those buttons (the hotkey is in the button tooltip).

Thanks for the fast responses. I was in the setup phase and will try these suggestions later when I get back to the game!

Shoulder-straps and, in many cases, collar patches for various German were piped or underlaid in Waffenfarbe, a color code which identified the branch of service to which the unit belonged:
white for infantry, red for artillery, rose-pink for Panzer troops and so on.

Amazing what one can learn from history! So there is a lot of pink in "Stalingrad", which is quite historical as many units were Panzers troops.

As Brian also said, In Stalingrad one can choose the historical set up or move their units around within specified set up area. Sometimes just for tactical redeployment and sometimes to different areas of the map, for added re-playability.
In each scenario, set up areas have their own bright colors. As far as I know all we beta testers found the specific colors of the various set up areas effective.

It won't stop me from buying the game but that hot pink really needs to be toned down. Reminds me of the pink panzers in Avalon Hill's Battle of the Bulge only even more extreme.
