Suggested Game Improvements

Post by gallwood »

This is already a good game in my opinion albeit a tad shallow. I think the addition of the following would significantly improve the experience.

1.) Move Phase: This phase must not end just because player clicks away from unit and should remain operational until the
unit move is satisfied or exhausted. Currently it is so easy to accidentally close this phase.
2.) End of Turn: There should definitely be confirmation before this is finally executed. It is so easy to accidentally
unintentionally end one’s turn, especially as this button is next to the LOS button.
3.) Hexes: These should be indexed.
4.) Combat Result Resolution Tables: There should be an option for these tables (including the AI) to remain on screen
closed by player
5.) Opportunity Fire: This should be improved to allow player more control although one can see that this may be
difficult to implement in PBEM
6.) Combat resolution: Some consideration should be given to the distance of a target.
7.) F.O.W: It would be good if this could be be included in the game options.
8.) Map making: Maybe this could be incorporated, even if as a DLC.
9.) Music: Option to remove annoying music.
10.) Phases: Optimisation of transition speed between phases in a turn.

Hi gallwood,

These are all good suggestions, and ones we have in our "quality of life improvements" list.

I'm working on core game features at the moment, but we should look at some of these once those are done.

Cheers,

Unless I am missing something, when playing it would be nice to have the hex details of you click or hover over the hex. If it's a building, then tell me and give me the values it represents in regard to cover or whatever.

I've just bought and played some hours, so this might already be available, but I can't find it! [&:]

Quality of life improvement #1 for me would be to get rid of the music in the combat resolution phase. It is a showstopper for me.
Thanks

Just got bit by that "no confirmation" of end of phase....I was checking line of sight then clicked the end phase arrow....before I had done anything but check line of sight....grrr.

Hi Hoyt,

It may have gotten lost in all the other features, but we did add a "confirmation" option for end of phase in the last major release. Check the options dialog in the main menu.

Cheers.

I agree with most of these suggestions - I guess the FOW does not bother me , unless they implement a way that we can set up our forces on our own.

I personally would like to see some sort of stat page, where I could see what scenarios I've fought - which ones I've beaten using which side.

Some sort of achievement page I guess.

I haven't been keeping track thinking it would do it on its own, and I'm old so I can't remember the exact scenarios I play and such - so it would be a nice book keeping measure for me.

If you were able to add 1) set up your own forces 2) FOW and an 3) achievement page this game would be in a really good place.

Anyway enjoy the game and it what it offers. Guess I'm just saying , you could literally have a masterpiece here with a few changes.
