The best tutorials ever

I absolutely love the bootcamp scenarios! Not only are they a great way to introduce you to the game and its mechanics, but something about the writing makes you really happy to see your firebase grow and you start really caring about it. I had so much fun going through it!

Totally agree. The bootcamp scenarios along with the accompanying text in the manual and the Youtube playthroughs are by far the best tutorials I have ever seen.

[;)] I totally agree with the above comments!!! I read the manual up to the tutorial run-throughs and thought it made sense. Tried the tutorial scenario and blew it. Read the run-throughs and it made much more sense. Thank you!

For fun little battles, I too keep returning to bootcamps, especially Bootcamp #2. There's no knowing how it will end, each time [:)]

Can’t agree.
Finding them very frustrating.
Trying to keep track of units is very difficult.
First time in a long time had to keep a log of objectives and coordinates written down just to remember what is going on.
The crosshairs with no warning. Friendly fire is out of control. Keep shooting own units when trying to click on them to identify who they are. Frag factor effect.

Was the tunnel rat supposed to do anything? Jig so, he didn’t.

Boot camp 4 can’t turn on the labels. They were there in the other boot camps. Now, no matter what, they aren’t. Alt1 does zip. Show labels, does nothing. Scroll wheel moves from 2d to 3d to outer space view.
So don’t know where am supposed to go too. No coordinates given.

Very difficult to have the manual open on pc, while game is running.
Have to use a tablet.

Finding it quite frustrating.
Found it like this many years ago. Was very much on the fence.
Perseverance alone making me go on.

I'd recommend giving this a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWXjE90ETOo

A few settings you might want to do:

1. Install the 1.10 UPDATE. It will correct the Bootcamp 4 issue.

2. If you're having issues targeting, use the following -- Options - Scrolling - Screen Edge.
2b. Remember, targeting only works if you have Firing engaged (the Ctrl button).

3. For the bootcamps, I'd recommend - Options - Elevation Delta - 1 (some systems defaults it to 3).

4. You can review previous messages under Status - Scenario Briefing... or Status - Message Log, depending on what you're after.

5. You can follow along in detail in the manual for each scenario on what you should be doing, or close to it, to achieve victory.

6. Watch the Bootcamp 3 video to see what the Tunnel Rats will do. They are quite useful. https://youtu.be/L-4LAzb4APM

Hope that helps.

Good day and welcome!

Thank you for your purchase!

Remember, it is not all just about the objectives. You'll find that with many scenarios, while holding the objectives is important, it is not the only thing that needs to be done in order to win the scenario.

For the Bootcamps, it is very important to follow the instructions (the other scenarios are more free flowing) and by following those instructions you will gain additional Event Points, allowing you to the gain the victory that you are seeking.

You can watch my playthrough here of Bootcamp 1: https://youtu.be/hWXjE90ETOo

Feel free to ask any questions, I'm always happy to help!

The time, effort and craftsmanship in the tutorials is outstanding!

I would have been lost in the motor pool searching for grid squares and cherry juice with out these excellent tutorials…let’s see who catches those references lol

Currently and slowly on boot camp 3, “I can’t get no, satisfaction”…

Played through the tutorials yesterday.

I agree that they are very well done, and a valuable learning venue. I know these must take some time and effort to create, and just to let you know it is time and effort well spent.

Zovs,

Not only do I get the references, but that is how I got my screen name. Many moons ago, as a wet behind the ears 2LT, the 1SG sent me to the motor pool to find a guy named "Feltan Lichtersnatch." See if you catch that reference!

I've had the nickname Feltan for 40 years hence.

Yes, they certainly take awhile to develop.

Thank you so much for the kind words, they are encouraging for future games as well as revising the bootcamps for CS Middle East when we update it.

Thank you for the support!
