Just got the game, view preferences

I opened the game and have played Middle East a while ago. Just wondering what view most players use and the different counter views players prefer. Is it also left click to move to a space?

FWIW, almost always I play my turn in 2D, and switch to 3D during my opponent's (invariably the AI) turn. I very much prefer NATO icons, but will sometimes switch to on-counter 3D units at maximum zoom-in (hotkey 1). In the Unit List, I typically set the unit views to no-counter, units only 3D.

I also usually play with Display > Map Hints toggled ON, and toggle ON/OFF the various on-map TEM, Concealment etc. values frequently.

With unit selected, right click to move the unit. You can also drag & drop. (And other methods of movement. See the Manual.)

I usually use the following options:

MODS: 2D BLUE WATER MOD

Toolbar - Colour, large

Cursor - Large, Enhanced

Scrolling - Screen Edge

3D unit shadows ON

Highlight option = shading.

NATO counters in 2D (usually, but not always)

Insignia unit bases in 3D.

Contours - Dark, Size 2

Of course, there's a bunch more to play with!
