Battle of Tu Vu - 9 Dec 1951

Post by Michielson »

A 12-turn defensive scenario.
2 companies must defend and hold the Tu Vu fort at all costs.
One company is defending the Southern stronghold of Dong Bai at the start of the scenario.
On the North bank of the river a second company is defending Tu Vu itself.

Battle report:
The enemy immediately attacks with continuous waves of infantry.
The first 5 turns the French forces are able to hold them off, with concentrated artillery and machine gun fire.
A few turns later we pull back our Southern company across the Ngoi Lat river. We are unable to defend Dong Bai without risking to lose the entire company.
Roughly at the same time we pull back our platoons defending the bunker at 10,4 (NE of Tu Vu).
All our troops are now defending the Tu Vu fort and are able to hold off the enemy until the end of the fight.
Ammunition supply for our artillery is getting critical at the end of the battle...

This is a nice scenario to learn and try different tactics for further firebase defence scenarios.
The event points system really encourages you to try and hold on to the objectives as long as possible. Nice!

Battle stats:
Side A SP Losses: 19 / Point loss 60
Side B SP Losses: 155 / Point Loss 428
Side A EP: 298 / B: 37
Side A OP: 86 / B: 25
Total points: 690, Side A Major Victory
