I just learned from today's live-stream that pre-order of WitE2 will be possible from Feb 23.
My question is: "What is the incentive to actually pre-order?"

I hope we will do a better job than the Germans did in 41 and not wait till summer. [:)]

If I pre-order the game and I live the United States, does the manual ship from England (or continental Europe) or the US? Want to get an idea of how long before I would see it. And I guess it doesn't matter whether I pre-order from slitherine or matrix right (it has been a few years since a I bought a physical manual from slitherine)?

Early access to the manual would be massive and much appreciated.

I would rather wait longer for a completely finished, road-tested product than something sub-par. Patience is a virtue. Many of us here served in the military where we learned to "hurry up and wait." I can wait.

Would be disappointed to see something akin to one of the old SPI board games (company motto: Here's the almost completed game. You can take it from here!)

Though I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this:

It says earlier in the thread that if you pre-order, you will have early access to the manual. pre-orders supposedly start on the 23rd of February.
