Berlin NSS Weekly "Sent" Freight Tonnage.

Post by Champagne »

What should this number be? I can't seem to find a way to approach 100,000 tons of freight Sent Out from this Berlin NSS Depot. Most of the turns, the amount Sent Out from this NSS is less than 40,000.

What's the best way to maximize this "Sent Out" output from the Berlin NSS?

The player has absolutely no influence on that.

Make a depot in every town with a railyard and set them all to priority 4.

Excellent advice. I follow it religiously.

It's not always the best strategy to set every depot to priority 4. However, if you're looking to maximize the amount of freight coming from the NSS, here's what you need to know. The amount of freight that can be generated largely depends on the demand, which is driven by the depots set to the highest priority. While there are constraints like rail capacity and railyard points, these are mostly concerns in the far interior of the Soviet Union.

If your goal is specifically to increase freight from the NSS to other depots, setting many depots in Germany and/or Poland to priority 4 can indeed move a significant amount of supplies. Additionally, you can consider adding more depots at the existing German or Polish railyards to further boost it.

Won't putting all or many of your German and Polish depots on 4 reduce the overall amount of supplies that get to the front line depots. In essence, won't it clog up the more western train capacity or at least reduce it thereby reducing the total amount that can continue east to the front lines.

Yes, if you put them all at 4 it will clog up the train capacity. The way to do it is that you set a few of them to 4 each turn. When they fill up, you set them to 1 again. Then they send the accumulated freight further east. This way you get more freight at the front. It is called "pumping". It's a bit tricky to get it right, but it can be very effective if you pay attention to what you're doing.

As a follow up question: do depots send their freight only east (towards the front) or can they send their freight west - e.g. depots Warsaw sendig freight to Lodz or Poznan?
I they don't pumping might be a little tedious but effective. Good advice, thanks

They can send it West as well so be careful
