Let's assume lack of HW and $$ is not your reason? Thanks.

Simpler, probably less hrs/turn, no WEGO air force (in case you dislike this in WitE), more beautifeaul map/GUI (imho).
If you are a fan of minmaxed ahistorocal T1s, WitE is your friend too.

WITE-2 was my very first GG game. Truly, what sold me was getting a copy of the manual to read. The depth and detail was amazing along with documentation.

I then went back and got WITW, WITP-AE, and EDBTR. WITE-2 I haven't played that much yet as I was waiting for more patches and balance. WITW is solid, but it would be nice to see some features of WITE-2 backported. But I imagine it would require a lot of work and only be justified by releasing some form of sequel.

Looking at the player base reaction, I have no doubt WITE-2 is the better of the two. And it is not like, I am going to breeze through it and have nothing to play. Maybe at 80-90% discount, I might pick up it up out of curiosity; like my Matrix Anniversary.

I am very much absorbed by WITW and WITE-2. I expect this to go on for years. When I finally get a migraine, I will play some CM or MIUS. :)

Just hoping War In Europe comes out before I'm 6 foot under, with 1939 start, new detailed economic model, naval rules and everything from the old games sorted exactly as I'd have them.

Thanks in advance

In 1976 SPI already produced War in Europe:

Then in 1999 DG re-produced War in Europe:

So not sure what your referring to.

I grew up on SPI WiE, grabbed the PC version on pre-order, but there's been speculation for years of merging Grigsby WitE and WitW with various improvements. Would be the mother of war games and would have to be designed around a globe shaped map. :D

My mother got me AHs D-Day, BB, AK and Waterloo for my 13th birthday, by my 15th had started collecting those SPI flat trays, one of my firsts was B&P :D.

I had the DOS version WIE, but it was not up to my tastes, but then I worked on the dev team for CWIE 2, and I made sure that the SPI rule set was added (sans the KC and LA errata which was never official SPI stuff, but we added those as further options, the DOS version thought that the KC and LA errata was gospel truth but its not), and the developer also (had to by DG) code in the 1999 DG WIE rules and all.

Anyway it would be great to have a WITW/WITE2 WIE type of game.

I but wite1 because WITE-2 has a bit too much complexity but I like that the map is nicer in wite1 and also really happy about the new DLC which includes fall blau I am very interested
