Mysterical Losses

Post by Skuderian »

At the end of turn 4 I have lost 79.000 soldiers and of the beginning of turn 5 I lost 102.000. As far as I can see there were no attacks on my units. How can I figure out why I have lost so many people and where? 3 Air Bases and 1 HQ have been disbanded, regarding to the ground losses screen.

Look at losses in the losses screen and filter for the logistics phase. You can lose a lot of men in the logistics phase. What happens is that the accounting system kicks in and deals with damaged elements. Some are merged creating a ready element and a destroyed element, while other damaged elements are sent to the production pool, with some of the men in the element being sent to the disabled pool while others go to the active manpower pool. It is during the logistics phase that the wounded from battles (damaged elements) get converted into actual disabled soldiers. There is also "front line attrition", which represents the everyday skirmishing, artillery fire and accidental deaths that come from large armies being in contact.
All understanding comes after the fact.
