Was the Jun 1941 Luftwaffe considered OP, so you guys decided to arbitrarily delay the introduction of historic models?
(Bf 109F-4 anybody?)
The Ju88A-4 with the Jumo211J engines entered production by at least Spring of 1941and participated in Barbarossa.
Since the spring of 1941, the Ju 88A-4 planes were produced with liquid-cooled Jumo 211J engines of increased power and more powerful armament.
and a bunch more historical references....By early 1941, sufficient quantities of the 1400 HP Jumo 211F/211J engines had become available to allow Junkers to begin production of the Ju 88A-4. The increased power allowed Junkers to increase the armor, bomb load and fuel, raising the gross weight to some 3700 pounds heavier than the Ju 88A-1/A-5.
As many of 1/2 of the Ju88D-2s in WiTE2 were actually the Ju88D-1s (with the Jumo 211J engine).
First introduced in early 1941, the Ju 88D-1 was a dedicated photo reconnaissance variant based on the Ju 88A-4. The photographic equipment consisted of Rb 70/30 or Rb 50/30 high altitude cameras and Rb 20/30 low altitude cameras in various combinations depending on the mission. Unlike the Ju 88D-2, the D-1 had its cameras mounted in the fuselage immediately behind the rear bomb bay. In operational service, however, only the two starboard camera were carried, while a prepared rivet pattern on the fuselage underside marked the position for an optional third port side camera window.
Is the Ju88A-4/Torp even in the game anymore

He111H-6Ju 88A-4/Torp were armed with two LT F5b torpedoes. These aircraft were used in anti-shipping role over the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea in 1941 – 1944.

The next variant was the He 111H-6, and although not used during the Battle of Britain, it was used in great numbers in bombing raids on London and all major British cities from early 1941. This variant as well as the He 111H-5 and other German bombers continued night attacks on British targets to which Britain really had no answer. The He 111H-6, equipped to carry torpedoes, although it was mostly used in normal bombing missions, was used as a shipping strike aircraft from Bardufoss and Banak in Norway against shipping convoys plying the North Cape route from mid-june 1942 onwards with great success.
Since May of 1941, the He 111H-6 planes were produced with liquid-cooled Jumo 211F-2 engines of increased power, with VS 11 wooden wider horde propellers and more powerful armament. This variant could carry SC 1800 kg bombs or two LT F5b torpedoes externally.
