How to know if we playing 'no early ending'? :)

Post by shgenerolas »

Hi guys! My friend and I started a new GC41. We agreed to use a scenario modified through the editor (Germans are allowed to build units). We also agreed to play a no early ending scenario. Now we are already in T3 and we realized that we didn't check if we used the no early ending GC41 in the editor :) And we didn't select the no early ending options in the settings. So now we don't know if we're playing standard GC41 or no early endings :)

1) Is there any way to lern if we playing no early ending scenario or the standard?

2) Also: is it possible to change this condition in a started game?

3) Is it possible to continue the game if one of the players experiences a sudden loss?

Thanks!

You can see the options in the game option screen in the Difficulty tab, but it sounds like you likely left this at Standard in which case it will end early. If the scenario modder removed the early end conditions from the victory screen, you will see that there are no VP levels shown in the victory screen that will end the game early. However, in this case, you still have the end of 1944 victory check against the HWM. You cannot alter the game options after start in the two player game, so if you have early end victory levels and your game option screen shows Standard, the game may end early and it's too late to change that. The game options added in 1.04.00 allow you to select Extended Play when setting up the game which allows you to keep playing after a Sudden victory/loss.

Yeh, its standart.

I was the modder, and I did not removed early ending conditions. I just cant remember if I used standart or no early ending scenario for modding. If I remember correctly, I read in 1.04.00 that even in a no early ending scenario VP levels are shown (although there are no checks), which is what confused me.

But if there is an option to extend the game, it work for us.

Thanks!

You have to select the game option "Extended Play" instead of Standard or No Early End in order to be able to continue playing after an auto victory. Since you say you used Standard setting for Campaign victory conditions, you won't be able to continue. Sorry for the bad news.

Oh, I see. Even server admins can't change this? We play on Steam.

No, admins can't change game data.
