in V1.04.03 there was a clarification:
Please let us discuss this rules using an example.Manual clarification (section 27.5.6) - In order for a unit to convert to a guards unit based on victories, the three following conditions must be met:
o Condition One: For non-motorized units, the unit’s number of wins plus the year modifier must be greater or equal to 8 plus random(8). For motorized units, the unit’s number of wins plus the year modifier must be greater or equal to 12 plus random(12) For Army HQ units, the unit’s number of wins plus the year modifier must be greater or equal to 75 plus random(75)
o Condition Two: For all units, the unit’s number of wins plus the year modifier must be greater than 9
o Condition Three: For all units, the unit’s number of wins plus the year modifier must be greater than 2 plus the unit’s number of losses
o Year Modifier: The Year modifier is 3 in 1941, 2 in 1942 and 1 in 1943-45.
Let us say, we have the 1st German ID. This ID has got 7 victories and 3 losses. The random value is always 1. Year is 1941.
So, this ID is a non-motorized unit. Regarding to Condition One, number of wins is 7 plus year modifier 3 = 10. Condition is fulfilled, because 10 is greater than 8 plus random 1 = 9.
Condition Two, number of wins is 7 plus year modifier 3 = 10. Condition is fulfilled, because 10 is greater than 9.
Condition Three, number of wins is 7 plus year modifier 3 = 10. Condition is fulfilled, because 5 (2 plus unit's number of losses is 3 = 5) is less than 10.
Hence I would say the 1st German ID is ready for an elite status?
Have I understood this rule correctly? BTW does it matter if the victories are hasty or deliberate?
Thanks a lot.
