DtHQ messed up?

Post by M60A3TTS »

Has anyone noticed if the DtHQ info on the Commanders Report is messed up? I have no units showing a negative number on map that in the past indicated units are out of command range, despite the fact that there clearly are. I now have co-located HQ and unit showing a DtHQ value of 45.

???

Is this a server game or local (if local, do you have a save)? It looks ok in my recent test games.

8th Guards Tank Corps at 244,165. It says DTHQ is 45 even though it is sitting on the parent HQ.

That's correct. It is 45, because the DtHQ tells this according to the manual:

Distance to HQ is the difference between the command range of the HQ unit to which the
unit is attached and the distance in hexes from the HQ unit to the attached unit.

So with a command range of 45 to the Front HQ, and since the unit is sitting in the same hex, it returns a value of 45. So the rollover and the name doesn't really reflect exactly what DtHQ is. If this unit was 47 hexes from the HQ, it would show a value of -2, and you would know it is out of command range. I haven't looked at this in forever, so I had to check to manual to make sense of it, but it does appear to be working.

ok, thanks. So basically I need to subtract a unit's DTHQ value from 15 to determine exactly how far away from the parent army HQ it is.
