CPP Not being gained

Post by 56ajax »

The following units do not gain CPP

Fortified Units - CPP always 0. Not too much of a problem as CPP not important in defence?

Support Units directly attached to a frozen HQ eg Moscow Military District. CPP stays at the value when the unit was assigned. Note that combat units directly attached to a frozen HQ do gain CPP.

Cheers

Thanks for the reports.

We've had an item on our bug list having to do with units in city forts not getting full CPPs when not adjacent to an enemy unit (but they were gaining 16 CPP/turn, we haven't fixed this due to the intricacies of the city fort code). Are you seeing them not get any CPPs? Is this when they are adjacent to the enemy, or always? Do you have a pre-save for this?

Interesting that support units of frozen HQs don't get CPPs but combat units do. Not a big issue since there aren't many of these, but do you also have a pre-save for this?

SUs attached to the "frozen" Military Districts never get any CPP (afaik), since they use the SMP of the HQ to determine CPP gain and those HQs have 0 SMP. At least thats how I unterstand it. CUs gain CPP, since they use theirnown SMP.

CPP improves the performance of Artillery (not sure if linear), so Artillery performs much better with higher CPP, also on the defense. At least that's what we discovered/tested in Discord. Not sure about other elements.

Makes sense on the support units. The only benefit I know of on defense is the artillery benefit and the added CV value.

BTW this problem is not new, I noticed it last year but as there are (tedious) work arounds....assign SUs to a HQ subordinate to the frozen HQ

This also impacts those PVO units attached to town/cities (so all the Moscow PVOs has zero cpp), includings those assigned to Stavka. Whether this impacts shooting down the Luftwaffe I do not know.

To me this is important as I want to park SUs low in morale, experience and cpp where I can not assign them inadvertently to the Front. Reserve, Frozen HQs etc are no good as cpp is not gained. Stavka is possible but the assign box does not show morale experience or cpp (look up the CR and identify those eligible using quill and parchment)

Also those frozen Leningad HQs are a waste of time in that they are frozen for 11 turns and a good axis players is usually at the gates by T6

Should have no impact on flak. I'm not worried about the frozen support units. I would like to know about city forts though, as to whether they are getting nothing, or just not getting the triple bonus when not next to an enemy unit.
