A lot of the Steppe looks pretty barren. I guess its not possible to add a small amount of trees to (along) rivers tiles to break it up a bit? A lot of the major rivers and probably the minor rivers have copses of trees along their banks. You can see these on the Soviet maps, along the Don in particular and I have read an account of the Germans sheltering amongst them.

Even in the heart of barren Australia dry creeks can have a reasonable amount of tree coverage.

the clarity and esthetics of Jison MapMod were perfect, hopefully WITE2 will have soon something similar. I believe we lost some pleasure with the current map.

The "w_hexart.dat" file is very outdated and causes problems (as can be seen in this thread: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 2#p5187222), but the mod can be used perfectly without that added file.

Do you know if this also will work with the Generals Map mod? It includes an old w_hexart.dat file. Currently, that map mode has graphical issues in displaying various hexes. Do we know what the w_hexart.dat file does?

So just did two tests, one with the Rain Map mod and one with the Generals Map mod, both work without the w_hexart.dat file, but both do have a few issues.

The Generals Map mod has the most issues of all, looks like its missing quite a few of the last 3 years worths of updates.

The Rain Map mod has a few issues but nowhere near as many as The Generals Map mod does and seems much more playable.

Shame that both mods are not updated anymore.
