RE: Road to Leningrad AAR – Playing as Axis
Crikey, that's an amazing amount of Rifle Divisions in Oranienbaum. I would have expected higher casualties (especially with your naval interdiction) but I guess the result turned out to be a bit of a Soviet Dunkirk.
I think you will hold Kobona, they would need to knock away the panzer regiment to have a chance of getting into the hex.
Rail looks quite well developed south west of Pskov, better than I have done. Almost even made it to Tallinn.

It was partly due to luck as many rail hexes there were undamaged when occupied, and partly because the FBD worked there before turning to the dual-track railway.

Victory Points

Here the total men, guns, AFV and aircraft loss were also shown.
As to the VP locations, eventually I still kept Kobona, which contributed 510 points alone. However, I was a bit puzzled about how the points were awarded. For example, I took Pskov on Turn 10, so I think I will be awarded 25(EG) + 5(ET) x 7 turns (Turn 10 to 16) = 60 points. But actually Pskov contributed 90 points. If the points are awarded for each Axis and Soviet turns separately, then it should be 25 + 5x7x2 = 95. The number is close but still does not match. The same applies to the Soviet side as well.

Air Loss
Please find the breakdown of air loss. I did not lose any transport planes. They went to the Reserve since about Turn 2 or 3.

Metrics – Men Lost VP
Total men loss from start to any particular turn will be the VP value x1000 for Soviet and x200 for Axis
[A point to note – I think the figures are as at start of a turn. Therefore, figures for Turn 1 are always zero. I sample-checked a few points and they matched with figures I saw in my start of turn saves.]

RE: Road to Leningrad AAR – Playing as Axis
This ends my AAR. Thank you very much for reading. Of course, discussions and comments are still welcomed.

Thanks for the AAR jlbhung! Even though it was your first AAR, I learned so much from it. Looking forward to your next one! The Destruction of Southwestern Front? [;)]
RE: Road to Leningrad AAR – Playing as Axis
Compared to my game you did well keeping the Luftwaffe intact.
Not sure about the VPs, is it not counting the last Soviet turn? For example, Kobona you captured T16 and only received one turn of 'hold' points.

I am happy that you enjoy my AAR and find it useful. I think AAR is a great tool for players to exchange their different strategies/approaches in playing the scenarios. I am looking forward to more AARs from fellow players on the smaller scenarios, as new players often use them to become familiar with the game.
It may be some time later before I consider writing another AAR. Writing in English took more than the usual time for me, because my mother tongue is very different and nowadays I use English only occasionally. At the moment, I plan to spend more time playing the game, but will keep end of turn saves so that I will be more prepared next time if I decide to write another AAR.

That was true for the earlier turns, as I always tried my best to fly with escorts and did not overuse ground supports. However in the last few turns, I felt pressure from the Soviet VVS when my fighters were withdrawing.
I did not put my transports to good use. I sent them to Reserve early because I think some of the flights they flown were unnecessary. I did not want to suffer meaningless flak or operational loss. On reflection, I think I should keep them on the map. I can just put them to rest when I do not see any real need for them to fly.
RE: Road to Leningrad AAR – Playing as Axis
Great AAR. This got me back into the game after a break, and I learned a few things from you. Cheers.
