Loading Library's into a scenario?

Post by Capt Cliff »

I have modified the alliedmodels.dc4his file but when I run my scenario I still end up with units from the vanilla alliedmodels.dc4his file. How can I update my scenario with my new model file?

Anytime you change a library during the creation of a scenario you have to reload the library.

But I can't! Like I said I modded the alliedmodels.dc4his file using the historical unit editor, but I can't save it to my scenario's HisLib. I am not sure where the .dchis file is used. It's a model file so I assume I load it into the hislib. Where is the history library? I need to load my new aliedmodels.dc4his file into my modded scenario's library! I can't load it into my modded scenario library. In the simple editor go to the libraries button, then 5) Allied models if I try to load library there is nothing out there to load. If I save the I get the vanilla alliedmodels file. How
I modded the Alliesmodels using the history editor. But how do I get that his file from the historical unit editor to the simple editor. It needs to be in my scenario's library?

Ok I was able to select the file type .dc4his when I selected load library, But if I select change the program tells me I am going to make a duplicate file!! I am not really sure what to do. This is a lot of hassle to update the TO&E. These para arty battalions really lag behind when I march to Bastogne and Webomont. Any suggestions?

You need to make sure to substitute the existing library. In this case, I reload the German model library, note that I have to select Axis (or German) to override, NOT to duplicate a second library.

Important.

Make your own library file. Don't just modify the existing one... or the results you worked so hard on, may be overwritten by an update.

So how do you create a Library? In the Simple Editor, Libraries; there is Save Map, Load Library & Remove Library. When you select a Library like the Allied Models "Lib" you get another selection Save His Lib. If I alter the Alliedmodels file, giving it a new name, with the Historical Editor, can't I just download it into my scenario?
