Why is this waypoint ringed in red?

Why is this waypoint ringed in red?

I didn't do anything that I'm aware of to cause this to be red, any idea what it signifies?

Interesting development, the red mark stays behind when I move the waypoint.

It is the 'last walkable point' determined by the navigator. It gives you a small glimse of how decisions are made under the hood [8D]
