Updated Version of OP Broken Shield 300

Post by Sharana »

Here is the updated version of OP Broken Shield 300. Drop it in your LIVE folder and it should work if you have it licensed already. Steam update will take a bit longer.

Changes:
- fixed empty magazines for the Israeli Airbases. Now there is some amount of weapons that were intended for the "reserve" planes as well as for rearming aircrafts during the scenario
- fixed the search and rescue script that was causing troubles in some situations. Now picking up the SF team in Gaza and downed pilots should work properly

This doesn't work. The zipped file has "_" between the words. It tells me I'm unlicensed. I then removed the "_" from the name and it still told me I was unlicensed. Comments????

Do you have the original scenario on Steam?

EDIT: I just checked it again - the latest steam version and it's licensed. Check again if your license for this scenario is active by trying to load the release version from the LIVE folder.

BTW, Hazerim has nearly no Python 4s which makes loading up available F-15Is impossible (they're not optional ordnance).

My version is from Matrix games. Should I just download it again and leave it as a second Broken Shield file and try to license it?
Thanks

Same issue for me. All of the other bases are ok.

Tom mentioned one thing in that the unzipped scenario name contains underscores between words. The original does not. So when you drop it on the LIVE folder you now have 2 scenarios, the old and the new with the underscores. I just deleted the old one and removed the underscores, but this may be very confusing for some users.

As for Tom's licensing problem, I did not have this problem. It worked fine and started up.

I removed the old one but left the one with underscores unchanged in the Live directory. Worked fine. (Matrix version)

Mine worked fine also, although have not tried ultradave's delete option.

It works just fine either way. It's just that the underscores make it a unique name so it doesn't overwrite the original one, leaving two. So if you forget which was which you could start up the old one thinking it was the new one.

Does not work for me.

I never tried the original version as I just bought it. Installed it - downloaded the updated version. Now I can get to the side selection and briefing.

When I hit "Enter Scenario" the button goes grey and nothing happens.

Any help?

Can you try deleting the file \Config\Command.ini ?

I have an Issue only with this Scenario

With latest Version 1134.1 the israel radar circles are not showed.
Even if i select "show range symbols for selected unit" or "show range smybol for all units"
Patriot and other SAM's radar range circels are fine, only radar alone

What you say is true.

That being said, this scenario is very unique. In fact, those in the know, are very reluctant to talk about it. There are many FIRSTS in this scenario.

To start off with, depending on what side you play, the starting time is different. That has never been done before as far as I know. So, in order to pull that off, I believe that many things are controlled by Lua scripting and I sense that it is causing your discord.

You will also notice, if you look hard enough, that if you start with the Syrian side and then switch over to the Israeli side, you will see all of the various missions. If you look closely, you will see that they are already listed as FLIGHTS. This never happens unless the planes are ready to take off. By doing this, you essentially have a Flight Path Planner BEFORE take-off. This has to be the beginning stages of the Flight Planner.

Additionally, if you look at those missions, you will even see "Take-off Time" and "Time-on-Target" headings where the "Activate Mission" and the "Deactivate Mission" heading normally were. Again, this is new.

I believe that this scenario is the first to have access to some of these things. It is a great way to see into the not-so-distant future.

So, what you say is true, and you probably won't get much of a response, but it is likely because it is tied to these other things. It looks like some big changes are right around the corner.
