Newbie Orange dB markers under ships

Is it just me or does this game have a steep learning curve !! Having said that starting to get addicted

Is it possible remove/hide the orange dB markers under ships they get quite cluttered

For sure it does, basics.
Welcome to addicts club.

As for the db value showing on map display.. yes.
Either turn off MapSettings\underwater sensors ( which will not show either)
or
(to just remove the db value...)
Game\ Game Options \ Map Display tab. uncheck "Show dynamic noise values when ASW range rings enabled".

If I understand correctly:
Game/gameOptions: show dynamic noise values when ................. off. This keeps the ASW rings if selected.
