OpenTopo is currently missing its highest zoom level, it that was available in 32bit but got lost in transfer to 64bit. If you look at the maps online the highest zoom level is very detailed, hopefully we can get that back.

For the Open Topo map, is there any way to change it so foreign nation/cities are written in English? Right now most Middle East countries are written in a different language. Similar for Russia.

So what are the steps to get place names back? I use them. I miss them.

Thanks guys.

Sorry no one answered this for you sooner.

Placenames being gone outside of the topo layer is actually a pretty big issue for myself as well, I hope we see a possible solution to this at some point.

As of now, it seems like you can either use the Opentopo layer that's already in CMO, turning it on will turn on placenames, or make a custom layer using the instructions here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 1&t=398935 The custom layer is basically just grabbing a high-res picture of a map portion and placing it over the player area. If you're just looking to use placenames you probably won't want to go through all the steps of making a custom overlay, in which case Opentopo is your best bet.

As of now that seems to be the only options afaik. There's currently no way to get placenames outside of turning on and using the Opentopo layer or generating a custom map layer/overlay.

Opentopo is fantastic but since performance patch has lost 1 level of zoom :(

My main issue with this is not the loss of high-definition detail on the maps, but having Stamen's banner notices splattered all over the place while playing. They could surely have had their paywall without inflicting this unsightly mess on us.

Could someone reassure me that any fix will remove these eyesores? Any indication of timing here?

Are you still using Stamen? The option was removed wasn't it?

Could be that I need to download the latest update (which might disrupt my current game (Hail Mary)). I've been avoiding doing this until the ongoing update frenzy calms down a little.

Yeah, that fixed it. Didn't require a full re-install and didn't disrupt my game AND I can now link directly to the Forum again instead of having to go via the Product Page. So, overall, a good result!. Just need to make some progress with Chains of War: Hail Mary now, which is another matter...
