northern inferno first mission

Post by Jusepe131 »

Hello, I purchased this DLC but I'm already stuck on my first mission, let's see if you can help me.
It turns out that I have detected many submarines and some not 100% since they rise suddenly.
Well, I have one of these ASW Orion planes and there is no way to launch the torpedoes, they just start flying in circles. In addition, they are also detected by sonobuoi.
What am I doing wrong?

Tthe ships are the same, they locate them but they do not attack them
thank you

Got the same problem.

Sub at 98 ft depth, 5 knots fully identified. Orion cycling, sometime launching a torpedo which circle around the sub and going deeper...

Only thing working is dropping nuke ! but limited number

Bugs should be reported in the Tech Support forum, not to the individual DLC sub-forums.

Maybe try a manual attack. That way it tells you why the weapon will not launch. Sometimes it's because you need a firmer target to launch at. If its still fairly unpinned down in terms of location you might not be able to launch. Other times it might be that you are going to high or too low or too fast etc. This can happen if you have selected manual speed/height earlier in the flight. If you set the aircraft on auto height and speed just before you get to the target it will choose the right setup for attacking.

Also with planes I find I sometimes have to manually move the plane further away from the target (rather than going around in circles) so it can swing around and get lined up properly in order to fire the torpedo. I usually get the attack lined up manually then choose either a manual or auto attack once its heading straight towards the target.

Those are the basic reasons why a plane might not attack.

Otherwise it could just be a bug. I've not seen a plane not attack a sub so far but not played this mission with the latest game version. I've had lots of ships not attack due to 'out of dz' reasons etc so had to manually turn the ship to the right orientation in order to suit the weapon.
