[ADJUSTMENTS / FIXES v1.11 SR5] Freezing and crashing

RE: Freezing
Lol it crashes on a null-reference exception on mouse stuff. Is windows not taking all params with it when it delivers the event to the sim? Hmmm...
If you're able to start the game, could you go to the Options menu and enable Detailed Debug Logging. And then restart the game? When the game crashes, close it, and send us the Exceptions log file from the \Command\Logs directory.
Thanks!

RE: Freezing
Uploaded a screenshot of the crash just before clicking on the quit button. Struggling to get back in now after clicking on the close on the start menu after it loaded.
Trying to verify the cache again to see if it will repair anything as it's not starting up anymore, says the error reason is: Access denied.
edit: oh, in the more info bit, it's the same as the data posted above that I copy pasted.

RE: Freezing
update:
No, I validated, found no file errors but now still unable to restart, just crashes. Sorry emsoy, I tried to get to that debug option but mission failed. Any ideas?
update 2: Rebooted, managed to get in (hmm windows related then?) but can't find "detailed debug logging" option you mentioned. Exact menu path?
Besides when it decides to crash and gives the above pasted text, it just freezes every few seconds, will the debug display what is causing that?
Thanks emsoy

RE: Freezing
Load game.
On the main screen, select from the top bar, Game->game options.
The 'log debug information..' should be on the first page (General) toward the bottom.
or you can edit the command.ini
[Game Preferences]
LogDebugInfoToFile = True

RE: Freezing
Great tip on the .ini edit there michael, thanks.
RE: Freezing
Could you try to manually edit the INI file, start the game, make it crash, and then post the ExceptionLog file?
Thanks!
Thanks!

RE: Freezing
Busy with it now. Just another bug I've noticed, when zooming in my mouse disappears to the main screen center. Zooming out it has no effect (zooms out properly). I have zoom on mouse position selected. I'm running the game on the larger screen plugged into my laptop.
Disabling zoom to mouse function to see if it also defaults the mouse to the main screen... works fine. Seems there's a bug on the zoom in function with "zoom on mouse" selected.
Currently trying the sub tutorial, still freezing every few seconds, especially when selecting on practically everything.
Yes! Eventually it crashed. Log file uploaded. Actually seems like there's history since 28th there. Have fun! Hopefully there is something there that will help. I'm not sure if it logs any reasons why its freezing so much.

Hi Brad,
Can you do me a favor an unsubscribe from all Command scenarios you might be from the steam workshop. Let us know if the behavior continues after?

RE: Freezing
Great news Mike, that seems to have fixed it. However I also disabled the Grudge CMANO LIVE 1 scenario. Will try it again tomorrow with it enabled. I unsubscribed all from the Steam Workshop and then unchecked the LIVE scenario in steam before loading. No freezing at all. I noticed though, after unsubscribing from the workshop, it still appeared in the scenario tree in the game, is it meant to do that?
On the mouse issue though, it still centers on the main screen when zooming in if using external screen.
Hope the above helps. Will give it another go tomorrow hopefully if I have time and try a little longer, great to be able to play it again though. Thanks Mike.

RE: Freezing
Once files are copied into the Steam Workshop in Command, they will stay there even when you unsubscribe from Steam.
Steam will delete the files from its own cache on your PC, but you have to manually delete them from Command.
IMHO, it is probably good that they stay there as you can still keep using them.

Good explanation, thanks michaelm
RE: Freezing
Thanks for the log files! [8D]
Have made some adjustments, some more error handling, and also added additional logging to catch the NullReferenceException you posted early on. Fixed a bug by going through the debug log that you provided as well.
I'm not 100% sure this should fix all of the problems, but should at least work better. Will be released as part of SR5.

Thanks emsoy, great that you spotted a few other things hiding there, glad I could be of assistance. Looking forward to SR5. I'll be sure to post log files next time too.

Hi all,
Everyone who has crash issues with B839.7, please give this experimental build a try: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B205vp ... sp=sharing
(Simply unzip the Command.exe file to your CMANO installation folder. This will overwrite the existing exe, so be sure to backup/rename it first!)
This is an attempt to fix the crash problem that appears to be related with the Windows 10 "Redstone" major update (hence the title).
Please try this and let us know if this resolves (or not) your crash issues.
Thanks!

Hi,
i had the issue with more than 100% dpi scaling in windows 10 since the windows anniversary update. CMANO works with windows at 100% dpi. The patch makes no difference.

Just saw your message, will give it a test as soon as I can. I see today Windows popped out another update, hopefully they didn't tinker too much.

RE: Freezing
Just tested, works fine, no freezing on my side. Still the mouse bug though when "zoom center on mouse" selected. I had the CMANO LIVE Grudge scenario selected on loading up as well, all good, in fact, might've been slightly faster, or my imagination?
