[Resolved] Tacview won't work. Please help

Post by heyhellowhatsnew »

So I bought the bundle, and i went to the settings where it says Tacview and I locate the .exe, but it keeps asking me to locate it. If I did locate it, I don't know how to use Tacview at all because I'm a dummy. Please help :(

I downloaded COM and tacview from steam. There was only one tacview exe - no 64 bit exe. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Still no 64 bit tacview exe. What can I do to get the 64 bit exe? Thank you.

If you have it pointed correctly, you still need to turn it on once the scenario is loaded. To do this:

1.) Start the scenario.
2.) Open the [View] Menu.
3.) Click on [3D View] at the bottom of the menu.

Be patient. It will take a little while to start.

You have to point to Tacview64.exe inside this directory:
Steam\steamapps\common\Tacview or inside directory where you have Tacview installed.

You may have tried to use CommandTacviewManager.exe inside Command-Modern Operations. That would be incorrect.

Did you definitely get Tacview Advanced? You install the regular Tacview, and the Advanced is in the form of a DLC. You'll also need to run it once (from the directory or the Steam UI) to initialise.

Your directory should look something like this:

First, find where your Tacview is installed and locate Tacview64.exe, then go back to your ingame game options and under Tacview, repoint your link to Tacview64.exe.

P.S. Tacview is installed in a different directory than your Command game.

Doesn't work for me either.
I have the latest version of Tacview Advanced 1.8.1

I have CMO settings pointing to the correct TacView file "D:\Program Files (x86)\Tacview\Tacview64.exe"

Nothing happens when within CMO I select an air unit and press the 3D button within the view menu.

I have tried both Windowed and Full screen display mode.

I presume we do not have to be using the Steam version of Tacview?

Thanks

Does Tacview run directly from the executable?

Remember you have to run it once before CMO can use it properly.

Yes, I use TacView to review DCS missions.

Nope, I didn't even see it hidden away.

It worked, I now have a working 3D view. Cheers
