[1.05.1307.14] Time does not advance

Post by Amselfass »

Hello,

I hope this is not an embarrassing user mistake from my part, but, starting from today, I am having the strange problem that I can no longer unpause the game.

When loading a scenario, the map and the units will load just fine, the UI is responsive, I can assign orders and edit missions - but the time will not advance. Using spacebar or the menu entry will cause the button to switch between the 'Pause' and the 'Resume' icon, but time will advance in neither state. The game is showing a constantly high CPU load during this.

The issue occurs both in 'fresh' scenarios and when loading saved games. I have attached an affected savegame to this post, but the issue is not restricted to this.

The game has worked fine for ~30 hrs before this and I cannot remember changing anything between yesterday and today. Verifying the game files with Steam did not help, and neither did restarting my PC.

Thanks for your help!

Is there any exceptions in the log <game_folder>/logs/ExceptionLog_<date>.txt?

Check the box "log debug information to file" in the General Options window.

After some more experimentation, it seems that the problem is after all rooted in the particular save that I have attached in the first post.

If I load the attached save, the exception log will end with "Running with administrator privileges" and the problem will occur as described above (GUI loads and is responsive, but time does not advance). From this point onwards, **all** other saves will suffer from the same problem unless CMO is restarted.

If another save is loaded (and the attached save has not been loaded before in the same session), the exception log will continue with "Successfully loaded sim configuration" and time can advance normally.

I guess the attached save is somehow corrupted?

"Log debug information to file" has been turned on for all of this.

I have had this happen to me from time to time. For me the issue hasn't occurred since the upgrade to 1307.14... so far.
