Problems moving SAS troops

Post by Tom Konczal »

I am using [PC][64-bit] Update v1.06.1328.12 and am playing the Pebble Island Raid from the Falklands Campaign.
I cannot stop the one SAS from continuing its attack and SAS 2, 3 & 4 will no longer obey my orders to move to the landing zone.
The save file is attached.
What happened?? Is this a bug??
Thanks

It won't let me attach the save file to show you. It says Invalid Extension

Had a look at this for you, I managed to stop the units firing with Right Click Mouse on Unit > Attack Options > Disengage (Drop all Targets) [Ctrl+E].
As for the units that won't move they are all stuck on Land labeled Permanent Wetlands. In editor mode either moving them slightly or turning off Effect of Terrain Type lets them all move correctly to the landing zone. In wetlands speed of the unit should be reduced to 10% but it appears they are completely stuck. This could possibly be because 10% of the units speeds is less than 1kt so it's just not registering as a speed at all. Hopefully that will point devs in the right area. There are some entries in the logs could possibly be related.

I would also say the terrain types seem muddled there as well as Big Pond is showing as Woody Savannas and Long Pond is showing as Grassland.

Thank you. By that time I had a triumph victory, but still wanted to try to get them to the landing zone and figure out how to get the helicopters out. I will use the editor to move those guys slightly. I appreciate it.

OK - new problem. I have configured the Commando helos on Hermes for SAS and one for SBS and after readying them, I sent them to the landing zone to pick up the troops but as they approach and I tell them to pick up troops and identify the troops to be picked up, they turn away.

Help???

The units are too big to be loaded as one (for a 12 person cargo) they need splitting up first and will need a few trips or change the helicopter loadout to 24x Marines you can then get one troop into one helicopter. I went back and did it from your 'D' save I changed the loadout of the five Sea King HC.4 to 24x Marines and them had them pick up the SAS and SBS troops.

To split the units, Right mouse click on one of the troops > Split Unit > Break into Individual Units

Thanks. I appreciate that. The briefing said they were 12 man SAS units so that’s what confused me.
