[FIXED] Build 1405 CIV Nooo! Manually plotted courses disappear when units fire

Post by Tred »

Hi folks.

On the new Beta 1405 CIV, Manually plotted courses disappear as soon as you manually fire standoff weapons. For my micro-manage style of play, this is a doozy. It makes it about unplayable.

Note below that I have multiple friendly units manually plotted and the target is a bad guy fuel farm.

So even though I have my doctrine set to "no" for "ignore plotted course while attacking" as soon as units fire manually, the plotted course disappears and units circle around in place.

So for instance, my B2 with 16 JASSM's, ordered to fire all, won't even do so because after a few, it begins circling and won't finish firing until it circles all the way back around again.

Now I'll try to upload a save...(I'm tech incompetent, here goes...)

I've found this issue too, and indeed it makes it very irritating to play.

:( Yeah, with my micro-manage style of play, the game is still unplayable because of this.

What concerns me more is you'd think this is one of the first things you'd try when testing the game*.

Maybe the testers are heavy mission/AI users; I know there are some people who play CMO without much micro-management or manual targeting. Personally I've never done that because of how unpredictable and buggy the mission AI is. But I have the impression this latest beta is focused on improving the AI system, so maybe worth trying again.

Keep in mind this is a beta for a reason. We are most likely in a rapid change cycle to catch stuff that inadvertently gets broken through changes to other stuff. Again, if it really bothers anyone, they should just wait or go back to a previous version.
