This plane was coming back from an attack where it destroyed 4 buildings with 4 missiles. Everything was fine until it reached this point where it started going around in a circle. There is no way point at this location, and if you look closely the aircraft says LOST CONTROL Does that mean that it the Mission lost control of the plane and it has no orders? It's Status still indicated that it is on Plotted Course.

Manually setting the plane to RTB shows up in the righthand screen, but the plane continues to fly in a circle.

Usually, planes fly at 36k feet, but this plane shows up at 45k feet. I made no changes to the flight altitude.

I tried changing the Game Speed Setting to everything, but nothing worked. Eventually the plane ran out of fuel and crashed.

Additionally, I kept getting a message that popped up every few minutes indicating that the program failed to perform an Auto Save.

Please, always post a save file, in flightplan bug cases it's useful to have also the scenario with the aircrafts landed before they enter the take off process.

I'll try to recreate it. The game wouldn't save. That's why I let it play out.

What does "LOST CONTROL" mean? That might provide a hint as to what is going on? Is it that the MISSION has no control over the plane? Or, is it something else, like the pilot fell asleep? <lol>

Search shows it has come up a couple times.

Re-ran the scenario and it worked fine. The only difference that I saw was when the scenario that failed was running, the plane attacked the four buildings, and then turned left when heading home. In the scenario where it worked, it turned right. I doubt that this has anything to do with the issue.

Also, and what may be of interest, was the fact that the "circles" started shortly after I increased the GAME SPEED. I don't know if I increased to x15 or 1xFlame. In testing the next time, changing the GAME SPEED did not cause any issues.

The only thing that is apparent is the wording "LOST CONTROL" and the fact that the circles were conducted at 45k feet. The plane had always been flying at 36k feet before the circles started.

When it failed, I did try to manually order the plane to RTB, but it ignored the order (even though the Right Panel acknowledged it).

The mission path, and the attack, were set up by the game's AI, with no changes by me, other than establishing a Take Off Time.

Using 1662 this happened again. The plane was on the home when it started circling again. It is circling and NOT around a waypoint. At the same time the FAILED AUTO SAVE message pops up, just like I reported before.

I tried to save the scenario, and it indicates that it is saved, but when you re-open the newly created saved scenario, it is nothing but the original scenario from the beginning.

As a last resort, I re-opened the scenario using the last AUTO SAVE, (which appears to have been about 30 seconds BEFORE the plane started circling), and everything worked again.

The FAILED AUTO SAVE MESSAFE seems to somehow be the cause of this, or at least, has something to do with it.
