[RC 1662] Multi-axis / stacked strike flights stay in tight formation and ignore their individual flight-plans

Post by Uzabit »

Bug Report
Game Version (RC): 1.08 – Build 1662
Database Version: (used DB3K 512 in the scenario)

Subject
Multi-axis / stacked strike flights stay in tight formation and ignore their individual flight-plans

Description
A multi-axis stacked strike mission no longer functions as intended in Build 1662. All aircraft within each flight cling to the formation leader and never split off to follow their separate flight-plans, so the planned multi-pronged attack never materialises. The problem occurs whether “Time-on-Target” is enabled or not. Although only the “Stacked” attack method was verified, the underlying issue appears to be flight elements refusing to break formation.

Frequency
Always (100 % reproducible with the attached scenario)

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Load the attached Multi-axis Strike Test.scen.
  2. Start as BLUFOR and let the scripted multi-axis stacked strike launch.
  3. Observe that—once airborne—every aircraft in each flight remains glued to the lead, ignoring its individual flight-plan and ingress route.
  4. Toggle the ToT setting on/off and repeat; behaviour is unchanged.

Additional Notes

The same “formation lock” behaviour is suspected for other attack methods, but only the stacked variant was confirmed.

P.S.: I wanted to change the title of the test scenario as well, but somehow the editor won't let me change the title in the Scenario Description window. Any way to do this after having created and saved a new scenario?
