[FIXED][DB3K v.495] Missle distance changed

Post by rickywild »

For example:
Missle #759 AA-6A has a distance of 30nm in DB3K v.493, but in DB3K v.495 it has a distance of only 16.2nm

It looks like the distance became 30km somehow that is equal to 16.2nm

PS More missiles are affected

PPS Also, found that B52 frontal signature is 7585 sq. m. in DB v495 vs 107.2 sq. m. in DB v493

B-52 signature thing seems to affect both db variants in this build. Maybe something isn't calculating right in the viewer.

Ok there is a change in the viewer but could be the db team changed it. They'll need to confirm.

We changed numerous missile ranges in that family based on information in recent editions of Janes Weapons: Air-Launched. You can see the specific ticket for the AA-6 here.

As for the B-52 signatures, those are definitely not the DB numbers...must be a problem with the viewer or with the data being read from the DB.

The dB numbers look to be the same between the DB and the in-game viewer. The 'sq m' is just a calculation (which has never changed) based on those numbers.

Is it used by the game or just displayed?

I did a stupid. This is why I shouldn't look at radar stuff while tired.

To make a long story short, the B-52s (unnecessarily) picked up an "RCS Enhancement" modifier which...well, enhanced their RCS. I'm removing that now so they should go back to normal with DB 496. Sorry about that.

[DB3K v.495] Missle distance changed

Post by BDukes »

Sorry to say it didn't. Still an issue in 1276.1 with 496. Maybe 497? I'm looking at #5386

Thanks again!

It looks corrected using 496 - #5386

Or am I missing something???
