I think*** that you have to get them to the reference points, then the event editor puts them on the ground... at least it seems to work that way with most of the "deploying ground unit" type affairs.

Hi navwarcol,
how do you get them to the ref points? I see them a long ways to the north. Do i create the mission, and just wait? Thanks.

I am right above the layer inside the ref points.

Having the same problem. I have steered the boat all over the reference area, at different depths and speeds, but no luck. The scenario briefing said it would happen automatically, so no idea how to accomplish it. Thread probably ought to be in tech support.

I am not beside the game and have not played that scenario... but have played others where you have to get a ground unit to the reference point. What I am guessing from your statement is that you are in a sub in the scenario. Is there a boat on your sub? In the ones Ihave played, there were helicopters, but a boat would be just as good.. you choose it in the docking part of the menu, give it a loadout as you do with aircraft, which probably should be something like "spetznaz" troops... then you bring it, to the reference points....probably having to adjust the depth of your submarine to deploy the boat.
As far as the spetnaz troops you see far away, do not give them the order... in order to "teleport" them to the correct place, the scenario designer had to actually put them somewhere on the map, and the best place for this, is usually far away.. so they are just sitting there to be on the map, likely... they will instantly port to where you need them, once you bring the boat, likely, that is loaded out, to the reference points.

Thanks. I'll see if it is possible.[:D]
The sub only has weapons, sensors, and magazine on the side bar when you select it. Baloogan talked about teleporting but he was using the editor.

ImageOK... there is no boat. Just have to move your submarine at slow speed to the location as shown..

Great job navwarcol. So just let the scenario run, and leave the waypoint as is, and the spetsnaz will be dropped off at their position, or did you move the waypoint? I had been speeding up time, but that should not affect anything. Thank you.[:D]

PS were you in the editor, cause the one time I got them to teleport, I was in the editor. After that time, it did not matter if I was or not. Strange!
On closer look I see 30 second time, and it is from the editor. Thanks again navwarcol.

Yes, linked through the editor so that I could see the entire scenario to see if something weird was happening, but ran on regular and got the same result as well. I did move the course waypoint, to be closer to the coast, did not change the bearing, only extended the line, and the Spetznaz deployed long before it got to the end.
It should not matter what time compression you have, mostly the only thing that should matter is your speed and depth, but I think the event fires at a random time/position inside of those markers because the second time I tried, it was a little further in.

I have to reply twice because I can only upload one image per post. Look at the date and time at the top of the two images and note that they are different.
One is from the "community" folder and the other from the scenario in the "Standalone scenario" folder. The one in the Stand alone" folder is the most recent from the downloads.
The older "community" choke-halifax scenario works as advertised, but the one that I have in my "Standalone scenario" folder doesn't always. I can go through and delete, but I need some guidance on which duplicates to cut, keeping in mind that the older scenario in the community works.
Navwarcol, can you check this out please?

navwarcol, how do I upload an image directly instead of as an attachment. It is driving me nuts.[:)] Check your PM.

I also was not able to land the troops despite being in the zone. I have to check the events in the editor to see other conditions.

play the scenario from the "community" foder. If you check the scenarios's date it should be Sept-20-2013. The one in the "standalone" folder is dated Oct-01-2013.
I mean check it in the folder, under its properties.

I remember Sunburn warning about problems down the road as things got updated. I think something like this is what he may have been referencing, not making changes to the folder structures.

Don't have access to the game ATM, but IIRC you are under a time limit (specified in the briefing) to get to that area and deploy the Spetsnaz. So you have to hurry.
