[DONE] Operation Guardian: Counter Piracy Ops

Operation Guardian: Counter Priacy Ops

Image

The Singapore Strait is a narrow channel located between the Malacca Strait and the South China Sea. It is the shortest sea route linking the Middle East and East Asia. Everyday, more than 200 vessels pass though the Straits. These ships carry 80% of the oil used by East Asia and 1/3 of the world's traded goods.

The narrowest point of the Straits is about 2.8 km wide. The close proximity of the commercial sipping lanes to land make them easy targets for pirates; especially at night. With experience in counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, the Republic of Singapore Navy, along with Malaysia and Indonesia, keep this vital trade route safe for commercial vessels to pass through.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This scenario features:

1) Peace time operations (counter-piracy)

2) Weapons restrictions (only MG up to 12.7mm / .50cal is used)

3) Night time operations

4) Commercial shipping lanes, ships docked at port, small civilian vessels

5) Random pirate spawning events (for maximum replayability)

6) Challenging scoring

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scenario designed by Jayson Ng (jomni)

Special thanks to Mike Myktyn (mikmyk) of the Command Development Team for his valuable inputs.

Hmm I'm stumped? Blank meaning no units? Any devs have any idea?

Problem must be on my end, have the same with Operation Soberania, both downloaded today.

To be more precise:

When i load either of those missions at startup and click load selected it just goes to the empty background map.
If i loaded any other mission before it jumps back to that mission.

It basically does the same as closing the Start menu.

I haven't made any changes or updates to my system recently.

I don't even get that far, it just closes the start menu.

Ok it works now, wrong Build, 440 instead of 443.

I enjoy it, it´s a bit challenging to be there in time before the pirates RPGs do too much damage.

I´am quite fascinated by Singapores Military ever since i watched this video and read a little more about it.

Yeah that's cool. They converted the road into a runway by removing lamp posts and signes... then built it back into a road immediately after the operation.

Regarding the RPG. I jumped out of my seat when the pirates sunk my patrol boat / corvette in one session.

The scenario is designed to be a frantic whack-a-mole. The pace is not realistic but I want it to be challenging.
It is easy to defeat the pirates when you are at the right place at the right time. But when you get it wrong, they cause some considerable damage (penalty points 2x the rewards). :) That's why 0 points gives you "Average" ratings.
