How to alter sonobuoy spacing on ASW Patrol Missions

Let's be honest here, the vast majority of sonobuoys in-game aren't really sensitive enough to provide adequate coverage when an ASW Patrol mission drops them in its usual pattern. Is there any way to order such a patrol mission to give a tighter sonobuoy coverage?

Nope, though it may be possible with Lua. It would be a nice feature to get at some point.

I have used follow path in ASW patrols to do it. I know P-8s drop buoys about 9nm apart. I create a pattern where it will drop them closer in one dimension, but still 9nm apart along the path.

A more complex solution is activating and deactivating missions with either different areas or different paths.
