March 26, 1944:

Chinese army is recovering effectiveness and upgrading little by little to Assault 1942 advancement. On the Japanese side, few armies are coming to the front line perhaps waiting an assault.

In India, ground strikes are performed while the Allies are recovering effectiveness.

In the Marshall islands, Japanese has really evacuated Wotje and Maloelap. As such, Maloelap is invaded.

Using a COMINT, I am detecting not anymore an army but just a coastal infantry. As such, I decide a risky move and invade Kwajalein with an US corps.

Unfortunalety, odds are not good and I only have 3:2 despite all the fleets in naval bombardment. As such, I delay my attack for next turn.

On the MM side, Japanese have received more merchants this turn.

April 9, 1944:

Another supply attempt near Noumea by a Japanese submarine. The US planes are able to deal with it. In Kwajalein, odds are much better. And, after two attacks, I get a 6:1 for a third one.

Unfortunately, this is not enough. The island will resist one more turn. In India, the Japanese 23rd army is finally losing quite a few steps.

April 23, 1944:

Odds are now at 8:1 and a single combat to destroy the garrison located in Kwajalein is enough. All the Marshalls islands are now owned by the Allies except Enewetak that will be my next objective.

Noumea is still under port blockade and no Japanese fleets can be seen everywhere. Are they storing some oil for later?

In India, another army, the Japanese 25th army this time, is taking a lot of step and effectiveness losses. But, my UK and Indian armies are also badly damaged in these battles.

Japanese has detected our build up in China and try to lower our effectiveness before our first attempts by some air raids. But, few battles are starting anyway taking few steps on two Japanese divisions.

In India, my offensive begins to slow down. I need to recover both manpower and effectiveness for my corps.

A COMINT on top of Enewetak is revealing an army plus an unknown ship and an unknown air unit. This will be hard as usual to crack this defense.

South of Japan, all my subs are now upgraded to the latest tech level and are resuming their merchant shipping attacks.

May 21, 1944:

7 MM and 1 escort ship destroyed but 3 subs damaged and another 3 sunk. This is not going well. In China, Japanese are resuming air raids to lower the effectiveness of the Chinese army.

An airfield is thus deployed just south east of Ledo. With escort fighter 1944, Indian air force will be able to support the Chinese army next turn.

In India, this is hopeless. Odds are against me. Japanese is rotating its armies on a regular basis.

Checking the range of my escort fighter, at advancement 1944 level, in Kwajalein, it may have the range to protect a fleet just outside of Enewetak. But, I am not sure at all.

Thus, I am doing a test with a DD group. Will see next turn...

June 4, 1944:

10 MM sunk but at the same time, checking the Casualties table, looks like Japan has produced 10 MM this turn. My subs are taking too much casualties. As such, I am going against the South China Sea convoy lane.

No air or naval interception around Enewetak. This is strange. As such, I am using a COMINT. And this is revealing an enemy fleet in night move, most probably raider mode, to prevent the port blockade.

I am sure the Japanese fleet is waiting in Truk to setup an ambush.

In Noumea, the port blockade is endless. I wonder how they are still alive after all these turns of blockade. I am surely missing something.

June 18, 1944:

South Pacific is far better for US submarines. 7 MM sunk and 0 damage on my side. Heavy rain was also helpful to avoid naval air strikes.

In China, Japanese air strikes are limited to the north out of range of my Indian fighters. No air strikes were even attempted in the range of my air superiority units. My opponent has surely spotted them.

At last, Noumea units have been reduced to ruin but I did not pay attention and I am out of transports, moving plenty of other US corps. I will invade next turn and, as such, I continue my port blockade.

In India, I continue strategic bombing on Yenangyaung to remove oil points in the Japanese stockpile.

July 2, 1944:

US army is finally landing in Noumea. One mistake repaired.

To invade Enewetak, I realize I need to be less than 12 hexes of it for naval night move and for air support. As such, I am invading Wake island. Odds are good, 6:1 for the first battle.

And with a 9:1 for the second battle, the invasion has worked fine.

However, moving IX corps near Ponape was not a good idea. The 3rd Air Division in Truk is intercepting the transport ships and this is a disaster. Moving back to Tarawa, the corps is out for a long time.

In South Pacific, Japanese has shutdown the South China Sea convoy lane to avoid more losses. They still have 119 MM and 9 escort ships.

In China, my counter offensive is starting. While in India, I am blocked on the same front line just performing ground strikes.

Wake island is captured. An air superiority unit is deployed on the island to cover the area on top of Enewetak. As such, US navy is starting a port blockade.

Noumea is now secured.

In China, the Japanese cavalry corps is taking several hits. On a side note, the Flying Tigers are back.

July 30, 1944:

With my newly based air force, I am attacking ships in Enewetak. The 10th Air Division is losing 10 steps in two air strikes. This is perfect to gain air superiority.

I am invading Ponape for the second time. But the attackers are taking more losses than expected. I am waiting next turn to resume the attack. My US carriers are waiting for the IJN.

August 13, 1944:

A big carrier battle was engaged south of Ponape. And it was not well engaged.
5 CV and 3 BB have been lost in several naval engagements.

The decisive battle has started and the outcome is bad for USA.

The trap for the IJN is finally a trap for my fleet. I have 11 CV / CVL in range but my naval engagements are only sinking one CVL and one DD. This is worst than ever.

I could have retreat but I decide to stay to do two carrier strikes. But both strikes are missing their target.

Even the corps in Ponape can't win against the garrison there.

I am waiting next turn just for the fun of seeing the end of the US navy.

A huge mistake to put your CVs next to the island...so they "helped" bombard and lost 16% efficiency with that.

You will be lucky to even invade the Phillipines before the end of the game.
