June 21, 1942:

Heroic resistance of the Chinese 9th Army group that was able to hold during three attacks before retreating. Japanese is now attacking in the direction of the west but their ultimate goal is still to assess.

In India, several air to ground attacks were done probably in preparation of another assault. I was not able to reduce the Japanese marines division but will surely do so next turn.

In USA, the Wasp carrier and the North Carolina battleship are just arriving to reinforce the US Navy.

And indeed something went wrong. IJN has launched a big raid on the Indian naval base at Madras. The New Zealand tactical bomber has tried to interdict the Japanese fleet but with no result.

The Indian air force did intercept the first raid. But it did not fly later on. The third carrier strike was devastating for the Royal Navy. Their two best carriers are sunk.

An air resupply mission is helping the Japanese marines division to survive again. But, it is attacked several times and finally destroyed.

Trying to understand why the Indian air force did not fly a second time, I realize they have no more oil stockpile. A big mistake on my side that I am repairing right away.

However, New Zealand has plenty and their tactical bomber is destroying the Shokaku carrier. This is the second Japanese carrier sunk since the beginning.

In a stupid move, the Arizona battleship is damaged in Tarawa. I did not remember why I was thinking it was a good move. It is now back to Pearl Harbor for repairs.

In Bombay, the Americans are coming to reinforce India. The first transports are landing without any problem.

Two subs are heading to port for resupply after their successful supply interdiction missions. One is remaining on station and it seems to have gain 1% of experience. I will continue to check next turn except if my opponent is destroying it...

Two CVs sunk on each side.

But, it may change next turn. Seeing all the IJN carriers next to India last turn, I can't believe they are back in range of Noumea.

As such, the US Navy is on the move. First, few naval air strikes are damaging just the Haruna battlecruiser. But, it is later sunk by the carrier based planes of four CV carriers.

We will see how long they survive next turn...

August 2, 1942:

Breakthrough in China. I can see clearly now that the objective of the Japanese is the city of Kunming. The state of the Chinese army is not so bad but it has not enough power to fight the big Japanese armies. The only solution to help China is to divert all these Japanese armies. Easy to say but hard to master.

Alas, after resisting a first wave of bombers, the Enterprise carrier is sunk. The curse of the Enterprise has struck again.

In the news, engineers have improved the Mark 14 torpedoes. This is time to do a small test with the Swordfish that was attacked by some patrol boats. A sub attack is launched but the enemy fleet was just spotted.

The Swordfish is heading back to port for resupply. First time, the Japanese is trying to prevent my sub supply interdiction. Perhaps, this is annoying them a little finally.

In India, an Australian tactical bomber is destroying the Japanese patrol group supplying the isolated army. I hope they are out of supply now. Two land attacks are however failing.

In China, I am trying to reorganize my line but the Japanese are going west at full speed now.

August 30, 1942:

Tarawa is under port blockade. The US sub fleet is trying to destroy the invaders with some success. However, they are in range of enemy planes and they may suffer some casualties next turn.

In China, the city of Kweiyang is captured by Japanese forces. I am still thinking they are heading for Kunming.

In India, in order to reroute some Japanese armies, a limited offensive is starting with Ledo as the main objective. The US reinforcements are coming full speed to Madras.

Despite several naval air attacks, my subs were not damaged. An enemy fleet was spotted probably trying to engage them but it fails. I am heading them to a safe port now.

In China, still retreating with lot of losses. In India, the front is stabilized.

With a night move, I am doing nothing because I am trying to do a port blockade of Noumea with only one ship. I am just realizing this while taping on the keyboard. I am too tired.

In China, I am trying to protect Kunming with a wall of paper.

Apart from China things look like they are going well for you, India is ok and you've sunk some Jap capitals.

I'm surprised to see the NZ tactical bombers doing damage...

The loss of Noumea was bad also. NZ or Australian tactical bombers are useful once they are repaired and refueled.
China is indeed still a problem when Japan is going all in here.

Near Dacca, the Japanese are still trying to resupply the isolated army with patrol boats. I am moving an Australian tactical bomber nearby but heavy rain currently prevents any air raids.

UK is trying to break the Japanese code but without success. On the other side of the ocean, USA has already reworked their code to prevent Japanese to have good intel with their COMINT.

In China, the Japanese have failed a first assault on Kunming. But, they have a small supply line from Kweiyang to Kunming.

This is the time for a little counter attack. Taking all the armies available, the Chinese are launching four assaults on the Japanese 11th army. And the last one is successful. Kunming is saved for now.

In the north of China, the best Chinese armies are destroying a Japanese division west of Sian. I really hope to divert some Japanese units from other sectors by doing this.

October 11, 1942:

The 77th division is out of supply in Tarawa. I hesitate to save it because plenty of planes are waiting exactly this, a saving from a naval unit. And, I am out of range to do a night move...

In China, looks like I am seeing the first sign of a stall.

South of Noumea, Japanese planes are not very successful against my subs. Only one step lost during four naval air strikes, this is a good result for the Allies. And again the famous Unknown Ships in Area but here perfectly logical since my reconnaissance level is very low.

In order to withdraw some Japanese forces from China, I continue my limited offensive in India. First, south of Dacca, the isolated Japanese 10th army is finally destroyed. And, the Japanese 25th army is pushed out of its entrenchments.

Near Kunming, I am reorganizing the front line. While, I continue to attack west of Sian.

In South Pacific, my subs are attacking the unknown ships but don't find them. Trying to do a night move near Noumea, I am intercepted by four subs.

Seeing this, I am doing a risky move to destroy these subs. Five carriers are trying to perform their hunter killer role but the Wasp carrier is finally damaged. Only one sub was destroyed that is not what I was expecting.

At last, I am moving one DD group in raider mode near Tarawa. If he survives, I may reembark my US division next turn to save it from destruction.
