April Update! Yes, we're still here!

Post by Marshall Ellis »

Hello all:

I wanted you all to know that we are still working on EiANW and we have not abandoned the project. It will be completed!

I don't spend too much times in the forums because we are really trying to get this thing done. I would rather spend the time working on this thing. I'm not trying to ignore you guys but just trying to finish a game for you.

It's been a long road and as we speak the testers and myself are trying to get the PBEM testing completed. It hasn't been easy (obviously) but we're hopeful that you will be happy with the results!

I cannot tell you that we are done but just wanted to say thank you for your patience and please stay close to the forums for some news soon...

Thank you
Thank you

Hi, everybody.

Just wanted you to know that I'm still alive.

I wouldn't have anything to say, but this big, mean guy named Turk Sireni stuck his size 12 foot in the crack of my @$$ and told me I better tell somebody somethin' or I ain't gettin' paid.

So, here I am. See you in 2010.

Leave off Paternakski, we have been bugging Marshall for an update for ages, well we have an update now. As PBEM testing would as a point of common sense come after functional testing we can assume that any gross game breaking bugs are at least cleaned up I think. At this point I would guess the natural delays built into PBEM will slow things down somewhat but we at least stand a chance of seeing this thing in a range from a few weeks to a handfull of months. OK that may seem a while but some of us have been lurking years before we posted our first message.

Pasternaski:

I deserve the kicks. I cannot argue with that BUT I'm still here and working and going to finish this thing. We may all be in the AARP when it's done but at least we would more extra time to play this thing when we're retired, right :-) ?

Kick me, beat me, call me names or scream at me BUT I AIN'T QUITTING.

BTW: We're on version 7.91 beta. That's quite a few releases so please don't think that we're not working on this thing.

Hugs and kisses!
Thank you

Thank you. That sums up the status quite nicely.

And I also take it that Marshall would guess, as any number of unknowns could throw a spanner in the works, and Marshall has been bitten by making predictions that have been knocked sideways by unforseen events more than once.
That all being the case I can understand Marshall being somewhat guarded in his comments.

Yeah, I'm kinda tired of the whining too. It's taking a long time ... uh, ok. "We don't have any news" and then when news comes out, "It's not good enough" or "It's wrong" or "You said something else last time". Come on give the guys a break.

Marshall Ellis and folks, keep up the good work.

I'm just looking forward to when the game actually is ready. The timing doesn't particularly matter; it won't change the fundamental question of when or if I am going to buy it.

Thanks for the update Marshall.

I appreciate the effort not to release a product before its time look forward to the game.

As I have said before, I would rather have a game released that is thoroughly tested for both technical and playability issues, as opposed to a product that that is simply "unoplayable" and requires constant patching to address those very issues.

Keep up the good work and throw the restless natives here on the board a bone once in a while.

I just want to stand up for Marshall, he has certainly been pumping out the work for us, to get done, and tested.

Great GoogleyMoogley....this game is still pending? That borders on bizarre. Marshall, I've met you and found you to be quite personable. I believed what I read here 2 years ago and I believe what you're saying now. I'm glad you refuse to lay down on the project while at the same time being willing to accept abuse by we forum users.

Being one who was really really excited about this project a few years ago and who wrote it off long ago, allow me to give you some playful abuse... I'd have lost it long ago if I was in your shoes on this one. :)

Who ever said I didn't lose it? I've been in rehab a few times over the years and I'll keep picking myself up until this thing is done!

I wish some of you people would quit b1tching about this game! Pasternakski relax. Would you rather have the game now or have the game right?

I want this game more than any of you but I am patiently waiting for a proper release. so...

BACK OFF!!!
