These rusults are way off,, I attacked with multiple Divebombers against 2 dd 2 ca and a bb and sunk nothing and lost all but one DB, and they where veteran DB's This game needs some serious tweeking as in real life great dammage was had against unprotected, no cap, navel vessals

In this case it´s not the game that needs tweaking, it´s the scenario.

It should be easy to add the air type "Navalbomber" which would be a nightmare
for naval vessels. The dive bomber was designed for close air support, not
for sinking battleships.

I see the air unit as a combined all around dive level close support inclusive of torps, remmeber the Germs used a fighter! 109? 190? to torpedo ships!
my beef, where the beaf.. hello raverdude??? is that the ships should be long gone agains any type of attack planes , save strategic bombers

And how many DBs did you bring? Remember that ships are much more expansive than bombers when comparing their numbers...

Two Cruisers where in the fleet?
Cruisers have great AA power, so try to attack a fleet without them.
Do the DBs still lose?

Are you saying you sent 11 dive bombers against: 2DD,2CA and a BB? And you are complaining you sank nothing? Whats the scenario? Whats the year? Is it 1944 Japs vs US ack-ack aplenty ships? So your 11 dive-bombers are vapor, how is that unbalanced?[&:]

Or even in the naval training scenario - you get 5 dive bombers - when I played it they sank nothing and were all shot down over 3 strikes.

I'm presuming that each "plane" is representative of a squadron or something similar, and each ship ditto......one would expect a strike of 5 reasonably well trained and equipped naval squadrons to do some damage, and not to lose 1/2 it's strength against most contemporary AA.

6 Dive-bombers??????????? versus 2DD,2CA and a BB? All in one attack correct? The fighters are escort and dropped from the equation. Is there an air-crew quality level listed? Are they German dive-bombers? British?

Sorry 6 DB's are just not an over whelming force.

Ah,some light breaks in if we are discussing "Squadrons"of aircraft.

So............."never-mind".[8|]

Experince plays a part, as your bomber become more experinced they will become more and more deadly.
Also make sure your bombers have supplies green dot, of the dot is yellow or red they don't have enough supplies and attacks become less effective.

well, I cannot redo the turn and see, but htere hq was so overloaded it had to stop recieving supplies and bcome a supply hub!\\
Anyway, ca or ca2 just should not be THAT effective!

I agree, the database need tweaking so that when a full carrier complement of DBs attacks some CA/DD fleet they fare better than just being shot down. I've also played the naval training scen and found the carriers totally useless. [:@]

So go into the editor and tweak to your heart's content.[8|]

Barthheart,
Sure I can mod it but it isn't only my problem, it's *a* problem to have ineffective carriers in game.... Or we may then consider that some parts of the game having no semblance of reality is just fine, and play Pac War as if it were Jutland. But I don't like it [:-]
